Music, growth, good friends, my daughters Rachel and Amanda, my cats sleeping on my bed, spinning cd's, learning Live 6, cooking for a friend, a fire, the view of San Francisco Bay from my hill, a nap on the couch, science fiction, movies, Indian food, getting up early, time alone yet in the company of nice folks in a Portland coffee shop, love.
Music
Almost anything that's good. All genres have something to offer and after a wonderful life of listening, I'm so appreciative of the breadth of songs and music I've heard. Currently listening to a lot of really fine progressive house. (and my mixes :) )
Movies
Things We Lost in the Fire, Grindhouse, The Departed, Words and Music, Blade Runner, Apocolypse Now
Television
The War, Battlestar Gallactica, Startrek Enterprise, an occasional football game
Books
State of Denial, How the Mind Works, Quicksilver
Heroes
Heroes come in all sizes. For some it's merely transcending their past, becoming who they want to be despite the life they were dealt. Others inspire us in ways large and small to be the best we can be. Historical figures include people like Newton was a whacko but got a hold of idea and chased it down, rigorously, until he'd defined every aspect or people who have risked their lives and fortunes believing that we all deserved their efforts. In my life, a few notable friends, mentors and family members have changed me in ways that are hard to define but somehow set that standard I try to live up to.
A more important question might be, "Who's hero are you?"
Who I'd like to meet: Like minded people. I'm sure that's pretty universal... I'm comfortable with everyone but really enjoy the company of enthusiastic, young people who still believe change is possible and are willing to work towards the future they want.
Hey Bob!
Just got back from the Arlingtion...
Went in backstage (for free) to see Tenacious D
What a pile of crap.
Lauda (my ex) watched rehersal today and she tells me when I get there...and she says..."well, you know he wants to be Spinal Tap but he just is not very witty."
And I gotta say she was right...
the fucking crowd went absolutely! crazy tho when he hit the stage..but it was hard rock punk "I hate my Mom! " lyrics...
kinda weak.
