DJ ROMA SHPAK (KIEV)
Resident of several labels and agencies (Have a Break, Kiev, DigitalVinylRecords, USA). One of several DJs who use a couple of sources in their work (two or three CD players together with specially prepared a cappellas). Participant of Kazantip 2002, 2003 and 2004. Organizer of series of PORNO DISCO provocative parties. One of the organizers of “A.freak.A” party tours throughout Ukraine and also a founder of URBANIZATSIYA project.
Founder of the project and agency of the same name IMPORT. Radio show Import on Star FM was part of the same project in 2005-2007, a weekly radio show with exclusive mixes of international guests, such as DJ Bert (Pl), DJ King Roc (UK), DJ Paul Jackson (UK), DJ Tom Real (UK), Groove Masters (UK), DJ Paul Woolford (UK), DJ Workidz (Hu), DJ Stephan M (FR) and others. In 2007-2008 as a result of active studio work a remix on Requiem track from Dj Stranger was released together with two remixes on “Crash Crew” track by Access Denied on Bass Reflection Records.
2008 became the year of collaboration with American label Digital Vinyl Recordings. During this collaboration several releases from DJ Roma Shpak were created: Minimal-no and Minimal Pleasure. 2009 became the year of preparation for Spice track (Oh My God) on Digital Vinyl Recordings in Miami. Promo version of this track was presented on WMC 2009 in March and obtained positive reviews from WMC 2009 participants. Today remixes on future releases on DVR are being prepared – Piano Madness and Karpaty Boogie. Promo version of Karpaty Boogie took 11th place in pre-sales results in December 2009. In September 2009 Roman came out as a producer of Russian Sambo Federation soundtrack. In October remix promo version on Singapore vocalist Asha Edmund was prepared.
Participant and organizer of many parties throughout Ukraine. Guest of Moldavian, Belorussian, Polish and Russian clubs. Possesses a good feeling of people on dance floor, and is notable for quality selection of musical material and excellent playing technique.
STRR007: Justin James (chicago) "Make That Ass Jack" featuring CC Rock, In Stores Now!...Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, USA, 21 year old producer Justin James is exploding onto the scene with his fresh style of Electro House. Solid production sounds with tight drums, glitchy electro synths, and booming basses. A DJ friendly intro builds up to the break, where they introduce the anthem like vocals from STR label head CC Rock, telling you to “Come on everybody put your hands in the air….”. Then the track drops back into some Jackin Elctro House, with digital synths stabs, warping basses, siren sequences, The main breakdown, features piano and strings to calm the action for a moment, then builds back up the vocals with some a FX rise, then kicks back into the Electro Funk! If you are not a fan of vocals, the release features an instrumental mix too. The highlight of the bunch is the WesField Remix. WesField is a 19 year old producer from Croatia, and he has the skills to pay the bills! This track gets you on your feet, funky, grooving, Electro House, with his soon to be trademark style; 4x4 glitchy beats, with dominating electro style basslines, wikkid synth edits, and he makes great use of the vocals from the original. In fact, the only sound he used from the original mix is the CC Rock vocals. The entire track rest of the track is brand new. A great addition to the release and the STR crew. Look for good things to come from this talented teenage European producer. Finishing off the release is the Aleksus Sanchez House of Cards mix. Deep House is the flavor here, utilizing many of the samples used in the original mix; with booming kicks, tranced out synth work, evolving FX layers, and syncopated sample drops. 4 mixes of intelligent house music, ready to rock Miami Beach this year at the Winter Music Conference, and destined to Make That Ass Jack!
