DJ Rossstar
With an audience of more than 50,000 people per live broadcast, "DJ Rossstar's Punk Rock Show" has remained one of the leading online shows since its creation in 2002.
Airing from a small apartment in Los Angeles, California, every Wednesday and Thursday from 7-8pm (West Coast Time)on STICKAM, DJ Rossstar has had over 500 guests drop by his studio for interactive broadcasts.
Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, AFI, Plain White T's, Saosin, Boys Like Girls, Good Charlotte, Katy Perry, The Veronicas, Shwayze, All Time Low and Jack's Mannequin are just a few of the artists who have appeared on the show, and for many of them, it was their first "legit" interview.
During the show, fans are able to interact directly with band members in real time through both instant messenger and telephone. Acoustic performances, premieres and off-the-cuff questions have been a staple of the show since its inception and artists consider doing DJ Rossstar's Punk Rock Show as a major steppingstone to a successful musical career.
In 2006, Havoc Television began filming and airing some of DJ Rossstar's shows on "Havoc on Demand" - a free VOD channel, available on most cable providers. Since then, Havoc has given Rossstar a gig as host every Monday night from 11pm-3am PT on their live video/text messaging show, "Havoc on the 101," which airs live on DirecTV Channel 101.
In 2007, popular social networking and media site Buzznet.com hired Rossstar as their official host - thus opening him up to a new range of interviewees including: singer/actress Mandy Moore, Kendra Wilkinson of "The Girls Next Door," Jason Wahler of "The Hills," and even Danny Bonaduce. Rossstar produced daily music blogs on Buzznet.com and also served as correspondent at many red carpet events and celebrity interviews.
In 2008, DJ Rossstar added another job to his ever growing list ... columnist for Substream Music Press, a bi-monthly music magazine that is available at all Hot Topic locations.
DJ Rossstar has appeared on numerous Web and print interviews, Web TV shows, Web radio shows, college radio shows and was even a guest on KROQ's hit morning show "The Kevin and Bean Show" on more than one occasion. His MySpace page has well over 50,000 fans and his Buzznet page has reached over 160,000 friends.
Ask any artist, label, publicist or music fanatic and they will tell you that DJ Rossstar knows music; and most importantly, he knows the enthusiastic, yet finicky, music fans of enigmatic generation Y.
