SKY tends to go all over the place but is most comfortable in vibes similar to Ninja Tunes to Z-trip......................................................................................................................................................
So I realized that changing this profile, I lost alot of "me" stuff.........so here are some of the old facts about me from the old profile:
Interests:
Any and all forms of art, music, volunteering, networking and socializing with the world. I love natural thrills like cliff jumping, hiking, skydiving, etc.......
My music interests range from The Cure(all first 26 albums that is!), Radiohead, The Pixies, Glue, Psyche Origami, Collective Efforts, Mr. Dibbs, Anticon, Maker, Sade(she's my angel), People Under The Stairs, Team Sleep, ALL the hiphop albums in the late 80s and early/mid 90s.........there was sumthin' in the water in those days, for some reason all the albums were dope from beginning to end! What happened?! Of course there are many exceptions, but that was an era with weight to it! Classic Jazz and Big Band........gives me flashbacks to my old cartoons and soothes the soul.........and old school Appalachian Blue Grass!
DJ SKY has been translating his musical interests and moods through the turntables since '93, proving to be a strong provider, promoter and representative of the Atlanta hiphop scene. From '94 to '99, he scratched live with 8 piece instrumental/funk/acid-jazz band Sputnik. During his ride with
Sputnik, he joined up with 3 MCs by the name of Mojo99 (now Heavy Mojo), scratching with other
rotating band members from '96 to late 2001. Throughout these years, he has built a
name for his solo career DJing in clubs, shows, radio and studio sessions with
many different artists and groups. SKY can be heard on WRAS 88.5FM's "Hush,
Hush" show every first Wednesday of every month from 8-10PM mixing and
scratching the best in down-tempo, hiphop & trip-hop instrumentals where he's
held residency since '99. SKY released his first solo single entitled, "Depths of My
Soul" in early 2000 on a compilation from Elemental Magazine, "The Track Less
Traveled". And in 2004, he released his second solo single entitled, "SKY vs. MS"
for the 2nd Annual MS Benefit Compilation featuring many of ATL's greatest
underground hiphop acts! This single expresses SKY's message to Multiple
Sclerosis which he was diagnosed with in March of 2002, bluntly informing "MS" that it has quite a
challenge ahead of it to have chosen SKY as it's host mind and body! To read a
bit more about the blessings SKY has recieved from family and friends, check
