Influences
All DJs past and present. Even the suckers. You can learn from anyone. Non-DJ musicains, here's a few: Donny Hathaway, Bob James, Roy Ayers, Average White Band, Ohio Players, Ojay's, Stevie Wonder, damn, there really IS too many to name. Seriously all forms of music have dope elements. Learn from all of them.
This 10-year DJ veteran does it all. Scratching, beat-juggling, mixing, showcases, battles, dance sets, hooks, beats, etc. Sleep got his start DJing January 1996 while attending Oberlin College, on the college station WOBC. (www.wobc.org)
Since then, I've been up to all kinds of shit. Rocking with Play Havoc since '02, Blitz since '04, and Bombay and Manwell, Ginsu, among other DJ partners over the years. No Cuts No Glory is the DJ crew to watch! I recently hit the road with the Warning Shot Tour, and got to rock with Edotkom and Rime Royal, two more of Cleveland's finest hip hop acts. Watch for us coming your way this spring!
I (along with the crew) have gotten to open up for plenty o' national artists along the way. I'm not gonna name drop, but if you were at any of those shows, you know it was hotness. Aside from the bigger crowds, we learn from each show (even the small ones) to keep the swords razor sharp. I will let the music speak for itself now. Drop me a line if you feel it.

we're not saying that there aren't important things to do in dayton this thursday, september 4th - there are. we're just saying that in choosing things to do on september 4th, we think you should chose to attend echos dayton in order to support local band black wolf fight and in order to help spread the word about cleveland's poetic dervish the world knows as fatal prose. besides, if you don't come all the right people in the city won't like you and then they won't make smart conversation with you at all the coolest places in dayton (of which there are two, maybe three, possibly one) and that would be such a dehumanizing way to live, wouldn't it? so honey, come out to echos. we are giving away life-sized posters of alfonso ribero. boomshakalaka - he's on fire.
in the interest of the public good and all other things altruistic and blah woo woo. please attend our next installment of echos dayton. the show features local indie soundscapers paego paego, the lyrical al green-isms of detroit's newest soulstress who the world knows as t. miller AND even more cool stuff such as performances from echos poets, interpretive dance, davey concepcion hitting fungos to anyone with moxie and more displays of various bliss. so, we'd be ever so pleased if you'd do us the honor of attending, even if you haven’t got a stitch to wear. tootles!
