Known for his versatility and unique sound - DJ Soap isn’t your ordinary DJ. Soap, who began DJing professionally ten years ago in Madison, WI, has evolved into one of the Mid-West’s finest.
While Soap is most known for doing shows throughout Kansas City, Wichita and Lawrence, KS, he has made a name for himself not only throughout the country, but the world. In 2007, his Dolly Parton “Jolene” remix received airplay on BBC’s Radio 1. He also was named winner of the "PowerTools" Mixshow Contest on Power 106 FM in Los Angeles. Soap spent meant much of the year touring; he was a part of the Scion Breakthru Emerging Artists Tour and performed at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. Soap has also been a regular DJ for the Kansas City Wizards since the 2007 season.
Currently, Soap maintains regular nights throughout the Mid-West, and also works on his own unique remixes and mashups. He prides himself in remixing a variety of artists - from the Doobie Brothers, Steppenwolf, Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift to Soulja Boy and Kanye West. One of his most notable mashups is 50 Cent featuring Van Halen “I Get Money/Right Now.”
When he’s not playing music or creating his own, Soap can be found planning, promoting events, and building up a roster of DJs to do shows throughout the Kansas and Missouri areas through his full scale entertainment company, Mass Appeal Entertainment.
For this DJ, whether he is at a Wizards game, local club, fashion show, or even the occasional house party, it’s all the same.
“I will always put on my best show for everyone I am performing for - no matter how many people and who they are.”
- Matt Lindberg, The University Daily Kansan
