I run Brave Exhibitions with Jen and Graz. It's a monthly club in east London where we play cold/minimal/no wave and put on bands we like. Come! I also run TanzMuzik with Adam, where we play various kinds of post-industrial.
I play bass in Joan of Arc Family and do the "music" for Little Flower Congregation. Did a couple of remixes... You can hear the "Rat Trap Edit" I did of "Bichos" on the second Quidam album "Pull the Strings".
Errr... I work as an archivist and curator... I spend too much time listening to cold wave, minimal wave, post punk, goth and industrial/post-industrial etc etc, and secretly a bit of italo disco.
I used to write for Music Your Grandparents Can Dance To, Atomic Threat, Aether Sanctum, Fiend, Goth Nation, Flesh and Wire, and I was editor of Procession Magazine. Did a radio show (Shadowplay) for about ten years, and spent a few years hosting a couple of others; Life Under Glass and Dead Air. Promoted and DJed for Tartarus (London) and before that in Australia for Rapture, Monochrome, Equinox, Primary, Ruination, and organised a few gigs and tours.
Hey Mate Happy Birthday, I hope you get to blow the foam off a couple of frothies. It would have been nice to catch up this year, maybe next year eh??? Keep it solid....
THE RETURN OF THE BAT
Specimen will bring their special brand of glam mayhem, The Batcave to London again.
After last year’s wildly-successful 25th anniversary Batcave event, The Batcave returns to its original spawning ground of London’s West End on Sunday July 19 for another night of blasphemy, lechery and blood.
Specimen (Fresh from a fantastic show at Leipzig’s Waves Gotik festival), the original Batcave instigators will headline the lurid frolics at the Embassy Club, (29 Old Burlington St, London W1S3AP) Also on the bill are original Batcavers Sexbeat, with DJs Hamish and Cavey Nick, cavorting from decks to decadence with the usual brutal, trouser-dropping surprises & suitably confronting & barbaric entertainment.
The 2009 Batcave will feature installations from exciting new artists of the ‘Dark London Underground’ and visuals from the upcoming ‘Welco
We want to come up for Specimen. Are you guys doing anything sat night before gig? We could try and make a weekend of it if you fancy it and you're free?
"the 5 Monsters", the 4th and NEW album of Blooding Mask, the most original music publication of all times, in the form and in the substance is available in triangular CD case and limited edition with novel in luxury pack!
Blessings from Magic Wiltshire
