----- Rotterdam based hardcore turntable wizzard Spete (prenounce Speed) started mixing at the age of 15. After seeing some flyers and listening to a K.N.O.R. tape he was hooked to harder sounds & dope designs. When he went to his first party called Bassrave he was fascinated by the Dj’s he saw DJ Paul, DJ Rob, Buzz Fuzz and DJ Buby. Mixing simply looked to cool and he knew he founded his goal in life. He was lucky to work in the Energiehal (fleemarkets) with his best friend Jacko (Jesse van Schayk) where he could easily find old turntables & mixers. Many hours of practising got Spete playing at little venues. After a while he send a mix-demo out to Dutch Rave which was an organisation giving young DJ talent a chance. This demo delivered him some nice bookings in the Netherlands with as absolute highlight a gig at the Sportpalace in Antwerp (BE) in 2000.
----- The fact was actually that hardcore was getting less polulair in 2000 and many DJ’s and party people turned their back on hardcore and switched to other styles. Spete had other plans so he and Jacko bought studio equipment to produce the sounds they wanted to hear wether it was populair or not. Many rejected demo s later and almost trowing the towel in the ring the guys got called by the Stunned Guys who liked their demo of Rotterdam 2 Milan. Little adjustment and the tracks were ready for a Traxtorm release, later on this was changed into a G-net release. After their debut EP Spete got to play around Europe in Switserland, Austria, Germany, Belgium and Italy and released 3 more EP’s on G-net.
----- Nowadays you can see him in action on important dutch parties as Hardcore4Life, A Nightmare in Rotterdam, BassRave, Slaves to the Rave were he is often complimented by collegues & crowd for his mixing skills and original record choice.
