Born Janina Suero on December 10, 1987 in Queens, New York, DJ Starline has always seen music as a means of expression. Spending 13 years of her life in New York, before moving to Florida, she spent weekends with her cousins observing the music culture. From Saturday mornings watching Soul Train to listening to trance on KTU late at night on the weekends, music has always been Starline's nature. Being of Hispanic decent, Starline has also tapped into Latin music.
Moving to Florida in 2001 did not stop Starline's passion for music, as she be friended New Yorkers in the same situation. Beat boxing, freestyling, and table beating were some of the things that took place during lunch-time with her new found niche in high school. She began taking out mix CD's for friends as she continued her drive for musical expression. In 2003, Starline became interested in the art of DJing, but it was in 2006, after watching web videos and DVDs of DJ AM and A-Trak, that she decided to pursue a serious career in DJing. She attended the Scratch DJ Academy, in South Beach, that same year.
After acquiring her new skills and techniques, this lead to her releasing her debut mixtape, Expensive Taste: The Mixtape (2006); to date a number of mixtape compilations have been released, she plans to drop many more in the near future. She performed at local spots and many private parties in Florida. Starline has had mixshows on internet stations and is currently syndicated on Sprint/Nextel and Nokia radio with her dance mixshow, Elektro Statik, and her Dopecut Radio mixshow on IHU Radio and WWACN. DJ groups have noticed Starline's body of work and is now affiliated with Bad Boy records DJs, Fleet DJs, and Future Star DJs to name a few.
Now residing in Tampa, FL, Starline is still working hard to get her name out. Music has always been her first love and passion, so there's no stopping now.
