| About Dj Starring Jasmine |
Jasmine van der Hell was born on the 1st of March, 1983 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, half Asian and half Dutch she grew up in the city of Utrecht, but has been in Amsterdam with all of her heart and soul for the past five years.
Event Entrepreneur & DJ Starring Jasmine has been hot and happening in the underground city scene of the Netherlands since 2006. That’s when she went professional, nowadays she’s appeared in most places worth mentioning like Studio80, Asta, Melkweg, Paradiso, Sappho, Tivoli, City Hall , Off Corso and so on.
Things snowballed within these two years; she rocked alongside household names such as DJ ShowbizzLizz (Supperclub) ,and DJ E-Sonic (Club Rain).
She stands mostly for your portion of tribal latin club sexy funky house, but is known to be flexible. DJ Starring Jasmine held her own on Off Corso in Rotterdam, was house DJ on a children’s TV show every Sunday, collaborated with De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig on Culture Sunday (and participated in a major DJ contest).
Aside from her most prominent art form, DJ- ing, she also writes, drums and acts in the occasional play, the most recent being ‘Ooh Shit!’ by MC & Lab. Every four months DJ Starring Jasmine comes up with her own personal concept on a sizzling night in Paradiso; The Circus Side Show. The latest addition in her line of successful experiments is the LadyFest, which is an evening once a year celebrating womanhood in the Okkie.
Also the festival filled Summer is a busy time; Uitmarkt, Blendfestival, Breaking Walls Festival and this year even on a boat at the Gay Parade! No wonder with such a sight to behold; DJ Starring Jasmine likes to provide something for the eye as well, exotic body paint done by creative friends gives most of her shows a unique extra.
With her puppy- like fresh view on the world DJ Starring Jasmine has got her first two gigs abroad under her belt in the East London Theatre and India(Club Olive Beach and Club Aurus), and is a certified necessity for any nightlife adventure!
