dj swan-e started djing in the late eighties in and around london, the surrounding counties as well as a residency in tenerife.
by 1990/91 dj swan-e was spinning up and down the country championing the early breakbeat sound. at the end of 91 swan-e had hooked
up with the band ub40 and got involved with rough tone recordings. releasing one of the first jungle tracks titled ruffneck business
which kicked off a succession of releases on the label including tracks like prophecy to dj rons crackman.
by mid 93 dj swan-e was being booked at all of the main events like dreamscape, fantazia, amnesia, helter skelter and dezire etc
pioneering the jungle sound as well as venturing across europe in countries like germany, switzerland, france, spain and greece.
in 94 swan-e linked with ellis dee and started their own label titled collusion records. with 18 single releases and 1 album,
collusion became recognised as one of the leading jungle labels within the scene. over the next couple of years swan-e and ellis took
the label on a uk tour with artists who appeared on the label.
this tour proved to be successful and was extended to europe, australia and the america as well as radio 1 and kiss fm and other
radio stations around the globe. in 98 swan-e and ellis decided to go their own way due to musical differences. ellis went with the
nu-school breaks and swan-e with the drum and bass sound.
by mid 99 swan-e and his long time friend the bass player from ub 40 earl falconer set up the drum and bass label maximum boost.
this label was set up at the dep international studio s {the home of ub40}, based on using well known worldwide artists. to this day
maximum boost is on its 20th release and has used artists like ruby turner, robert owens, shades of rhythm, capleton and the award
winning lady saw as well as producers like swan-e, dope ammo, futurebound, danny c, rascal & klone, benny page, taxman and undacut.
From 2000 to 2005 and throughout this 5 yr period Swan-E has been dj ing all over the globe from the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Canada,
Australia, US and has even performed in the most obscure countries like Colombia spreading the Drum and Bass vibe.
he has a regular maximum boost label night in the uk, germany and poland and uses his fellow dj's like; zinc, brockie,
da and darren j to name a few as well as long time mc partner fearless and krafty.
swan-e has also been dj ing at some high profile parties for likes of ub40, the wailers and jamiroquai to name a few.
2006 saw the collaboration of swan-e, earl from max boost and coco from dope ammo records and maximum ammo the sister label was born.
this was set up to develop new up and coming artists on a global level in today's whilst moulding the young artists towards
the maximum boost's and da labels for future releases.
this year has seen swan-e perform at some of the best events like innovation, raindance, ministry of sound, lifeline and royal rumble etc,
across the uk, germany, france , holland, spain and poland to name a few.
as 2006 progresses swan-e continues to break down the barriers with his unique style of drum and bass whilst constantly travelling the world,
spinning the freshest and most upfront tracks from the some of the world's finest drum and bass producers spreading the maximum boost vibe.
