Damn, where to start. I really don’t want to give a very formal introduction to who I am, I want to show you a more personal side of who I am. My name is Rodney Hazard (and yes Hazard is my real last name) but many people know me as Syrenn. I’ve been producing somewhere between 4-5 years now and have been pursuing a career in the arts for even longer. I’m 19 years young, but feel really old for some odd reason.
Hip Hop has always been a love of mine, I always kept it very close to my heart as more than just a genre but as a passion. Although, Hip Hop isn’t the only place I draw my inspirations from, you can see that it’s where I feel most comfortable. I feel like Hip Hop is a dying art. There’s too many people who attempt to do it and too many people that do it for the wrong reasons. I take a look at myspace, twitter, and all these other social networking sites and I can see how most think they can do it because it’s so accessible now and therefore, taking away from the art. However, in order to crush the competition, to be a standout you have to be the few of the elite, right? That’s exactly what my team is. I’m 1/3 of one of hardest working production teams relevant today, I.D.e.A. which consists of Fyness, Tecknowledgy and I. We have several placements from Joe Budden’s Halfway House album to Young Scolla’s The TPT Experience. We are still continuing to work everyday and we put our hearts and souls into our music. We are unlike anyone else. And if you don’t feel that way, give our music a listen and be enlightened.
