Beginning in Baltimore, MD, Gourmetbeats.com was founded by Tai and Joe Nice in the fall of 2002 as a music and art collective focused on bringing exposure to emerging artists in the underground electronic music scene. Throughout this time, Tai has been an integral figure in the Baltimore/DC electronic music scene, holding residencies at Baltimore's premier clubs including Mosaic, 13th Floor, Red Maple, Sky Lounge, Goodlove, and Sonar. Working closely with Sonic Soul Productions, Tai has graced the decks with everyone from Afrika Bambaata to Mark Farina to Nicola Conte. His success in Baltimore has led to guest spots around the country, including at the 2006 and 2007 Winter Music Conferences in Miami Florida. In 2006 he expanded his horizons and assisted in the coordination of Strut, a long time running fashion and music show in Baltimore sponsored by Moet/Hennesy and presented by Sonic Soul Productions. His 'Rare Grooves' party at the 13th Floor has hosted such names as Kevin Yost, DJ Tom B, and the All Good Funk Alliance. In 2007, Tai made the move to Albuquerque, NM to finish a degree in business and communications, and then to Orlando in 2009. The newest incarnation of the site was launched in October of 2006.
