When I first started DJ'ing, I got a job as the 5 backup DJ for a teen
club. I asked the head DJ @ the time to give me some pointers on how I
could be as good as him. He told me the only piece of advice I have ever
requested: "develop your own style". I never forgot that, so I would say
I am my own biggest influence.
However, I'd also like to give props to DJ Screw [R.I.P.], for not only
creating HIS own style, but also setting the stage for the Houston rap
scene to benefit. DJ screw was a pioneer and an innovator, so when I do
my version of his style, which I call "Throwed", I give all props to
him.
Producers I admire are Dr. Dre and DJ Premier. I also really like Pimp
C. [R.I.P.] and Cold 187um/Big Hutch, Hi Tek, Scott Storch, and Havoc.
Also, I think Alchemist is sick!
