DJ Tommy Bomb: A Talent
to Watch
New York, July 21 2009—Producer/
mixer/ remixer/ guest club DJ Tommy Bomb has been making music since
the age of 15, when he taught himself to mix. Years later,
after honing his talents in audio engineering school, working at his
own “In The Mixx Studio,” and mixing it up for radio stations and
in clubs, DJ Bomb has gained national and international notice for his
powerful trance/ progressive tracks, mixes and remixes, and collaborations.
Just a year after he began
making music, Tommy Bomb was mixing the beats so well that everyone
he knew wanted a copy of his tapes. At the age of 23, he sent
a tape of his mixes to Brooklyn radio station B91 (WKRB) on a whim,
and to his surprise, he was soon in the station’s mix on Saturday
nights. Following up on his first success, DJ Bomb attended audio
engineering school and studied midi with Profile Records producer Charlie
Cohn.
After attending school, Tommy
began producing and mixing his own jams, and he was featured on radio
stations Party 105.30 WXXP, B91 WKRB, and the online stations Power
845 (www.corzradio.com) and Party 967 (www.live365.com/stations/..967party). The first time Tommy mixed
on Party 967, he was asked to play only his own mixes for the entire
set, and he received raves for his gutsy, creative, and unique music.
In addition to his success
in radio, DJ Bomb has worked at New York clubs including Goodfellas,
Champions, Thunders, Obi, Huggs, Insomnia, and the Ice Palace on Fire
Island. Tommy was also asked to write monthly countdowns of the
best club tracks and a year-end “Top 50” for Lipp Magazine.
Tommy has been a member of The NY Music Pool for thirteen years, providing
the record pool with his original musical tracks and vocal remixes.
In addition, Madison’s Who’s Who presented Tommy Bomb with four
awards, and Tommy’s original club tracks and remixes are currently
being played on radio stations and in clubs not only throughout the
U.S., but in Germany, France, Australia, and Ibiza as well.
Recently, DJ Tommy Bomb collaborated
with Australian singer and actress Rebecca Lavindi to produce three
dance music tracks, including the standout single “Calling Out My
Name.” The single, written by Adrian Zag and Torsten Stenzel
with vocals by Lavindi and mixing and sequencing by DJ Bomb, was nominated
for best pop song of the year on the Arial charts. Tommy actually
produced two mixes of “Calling Out My Name,” the hypnotic, intense
“GLOBAL” mix and the catchy “HEMISPHERE” mix, both of which
are playing throughout the U.S., Europe and Australia on the radio and
in the clubs. In addition, “Calling Out My Name” climbed the
charts on isound.com from 500 up to 157 in its first week online, and
the song received a lot of attention on Cozradio in New York.
According to DJ Bomb, when
he’s not mixing it up in his home studio “In The Mixx Studio,”
Tommy is always working on something music-related. If his dedicated
work ethic, talent, and current success are any indication, we can definitely
expect to hear more from DJ Tommy Bomb in the future.
