........Grew up clearly influenced by black music in all of its streams Rox was born as a DJ with house music at the end of 80..s Toni Rox was udoubtedly the booster of the house escene in Spain. Able to cross frontiers, his music and sessions have reached New York, Amsterdam, Paris, Cannes, Germany, Argentina, amonng other world cities, which have enjoyed his amazing and unpredictable fusions and eclectic Soulfull sets, always marked by a deep respect towards House Music. His style is based upon both a perfect technique and a perfect musical selection. His constant investigation led him to create BOOZO MUSIC, one of our country..s first record labels of electronic music, where with Frogmen he archieved the heights of our electronic musical panorama as creator and producer. Through his career, and at the hand of Danni Pannullo, he showcased his music in the best clubs. Not in vain, clubs have vibrated with their sound, from HOUSE OF DEVOTIN, BOWERY, CHANGO CLUB, ROCAMAR, LA TERRAZA, BENICASIM and SONAR, among others, to JOE..S PUB(N.Y.C),PLAYGROUND (N.Y.C.), and the MIDEM of Cannes and Miami. During his artistic career he have shared the music booth with Derric May, Jeff Mills, Roger sanchez, Kerry Chandler, J.Clausell,Deep Dish, Laurent Garnier and an endless list of DJ..s from the world..s House escene. Considered a forerunner and described as "the white hope of the Spanish House¨or ¨house daddy¨, as the press called him, he keeps delighting us night after night from several city spots. Moreover, from the air through their usual radio program ¨STRICTLY 1/800/ROX¨broadcasted every weekend from the 5º floor of the Circle Radio (DialSoul 100.4 FM) in Madrid. Actually Toni is living in Barcelona and is working as a musical manager at Chic&basic hotel............. ¨I have to say there's isn't anyone that I enjoy going out and listening to right now. There was a guy in Madrid I enjoyed… Tony Rox… he was great because he was just playing all the music I liked and he just played the way he wanted to. Everything was completely deep the way you want to hear it, but he played this record and then that one and he completely made it work. I would have never played those records together. Como DJ, nació con el House, a finales de los años 80. ROX, sin lugar a dudas, ha sido el mayor impulsor de la escena House en España. Capaz de cruzar fronteras, su música y sus sesiones han llegado hasta New York, Amsterdam, París, Cannes, Miami y Argentina, entre otras ciudades del mundo, que han disfrutado de sus sorprendentes e imprevisibles fusiones y eclécticos Soulful Sets, siempre marcados por un profundo respeto hacia el House. Su estilo se apoya en una técnica y una selección musical perfectas. Su constante investigación le llevó a crear BOOZO Music, uno de los primeros sellos de música electrónica de nuestro país, donde con THE FROGMEN consiguió, como creador y productor, llegar al punto más álgido de nuestro panorama musical electrónico o la coproducción de mítico CHANGO CLUB donde dió a conocer en sus sesiones su faceta mas Soulful. A lo largo de su carrera, de la mano de Dani Pannulo, ha paseado su música por los mejores clubs. Desde HOUSE OF DEVOTION en MOROCCO, BOWERY, CHANGÓ CLUB, ROCAMAR, LA TERRAZA, BALIHAI, BENICASIM SONAR y CIRCUIT, entre otros, hasta JOE’S PUB (N.Y), PLAYGROUND (N.Y) y el MIDEM de Cannes y Miami, han vibrado con su sonido. A lo largo de su carrera artística, ha compartido cabina con DERRICK MAY, JEFF MILLS, ROGER SANCHEZ, KERRY CHANDLER, J.CLAUSELL, LAURENT GARNIER y una lista interminable de DJS de la escena House mundial. Considerado precursor y otros adjetivos como: “La esperanza blanca del House español” ó “ House Daddy” como le denominaron en su momento, siempre ha gozado de muy buenas criticas en la prensa especializada y en el entorno profesional, Dj..s de la talla de Toni Humphies tienen en su playlist la última remezcla realizada en conjunto con ALEX MARTIN para APPROACH y reseñas en prensa internacional - ¨I have to say there's isn't anyone that I enjoy going out and listening to right now. Usually when I go out, I hear a lot of records that I've heard/bought already or records that I don't want to hear¨ -Mathias Hellbrom- Toni sigue deleitando noche tras noche desde diversos puntos de la ciudad y por si fuera poco, desde el aire, a través de su programa de radio “STRICTLY 1/800/ROX” que emitía cada fin de semana desde la 5º planta de la radio del Circulo de Bellas Artes de Madrid (Dial Soul 100.4 FM). La personalidad rebelde e inquieta de este Disc Jockey tambien llamado Mr Rox ha cambiado su residencia al la ciudad de Barcelona , participando de la escena electrónica nacional e internacional y con sus también constantes incursiones en la parte musical del mundo del teatro y del cine. Festivales como INCONDICIONAL LOVE DE COLOMBIA y las fiestas CUPIDISCO de Noruega y el OVEN, LA PALOMA, EL SHOKO , EL DAI CLUB y OHM entre otros de Barcelona, han sido sus últimos escenarios. Actualmente Toni lleva lleva la direccion musical de la cadena de hoteles CHIC&BASIC llevando un paso mas alla su pasion por compartir la música ampliando su capacidad como Dj y basando su residencia como tal en THEWHITEBAR, donde toca música todos los fines de semana.
