+ All the artists and bands who have created music that inspired me, excited me, and generally made me feel something. More than anything, that's what made me want to become a DJ and why I love doing this so much.
+ That amazing feeling of a playing a peak-hour set to a packed dancefloor full of people who are completely going insane to the music. You just can't replicate that same feeling in any other way.
+ The many promoters who have given me a shot over the years and all fellow DJs who put their hearts, souls, blood, sweat, and tears into what they do.
+ Most importantly, my family, my friends, and all fans and supporters all over the world.

Once upon a time, there was a girl called Ilyssa. And she liked spooky techno music very very much...
Since 2000, Philadelphia-based DJ Totentanz has become a recognizable name both in and out of her local scene for her dancefloor-oriented, beat-driven style she often describes as "hard techno-industrial". DJ Totentanz is the former resident DJ of four regular Philadelphia events (Revolution, Rise!, Luxx, Goth-a-Billy Tuesdays) and, over the course of her career, appeared as a guest DJ at most major Philadelphia events, many regular club nights throughout the Mid-Atlantic (QXT's, Alchemy DC, Ceremony), and made her international debut in Lyon, France, in 2002. In addition to her extensive nightclub experience, DJ Totentanz also spent 3 years as co-host of Pulsing Red Light, a weekly industrial/dark music show on WHRC: Haverford/Bryn Mawr College Radio. When behind the decks, DJ Totentanz aims to provide an adrenaline-fueled experience that will keep you out on the floor for as long as you can take it. The more you sweat, the more fun you have, the harder you dance, the more she feels like she's doing her job.
Motivated by a life-long adoration of music, DJ Totentanz believes that while technical skills are a nice bonus, passion, creativity, and a knack for creating sets that flow from beginning to end are what ultimately make for a phenomenal DJ. While she truly loves and has a flair for spinning Industrial/EBM and related subgenres, DJ Totentanz is an avid listener of many styles of music and encourages others to listen to new things with an open mind. She isn't afraid to think outside the box, try out new songs and artists, and get creative with her sets. As a whole, DJ Totentanz generally believes that modern industrial dance music shares more in common with other forms of electronic dance music than its traditional pairing with goth, but recognizes and celebrates the shared heritage in "dark" themes and aesthetics that linked them together in the first place.
With nearly a decade of experience under her belt, DJ Totentanz has earned the respect of the industrial crowd and beyond for her hard-hitting sets that fare well in and out of the dark scene, as well as her extensive musical knowledge. A fan favorite in Philadelphia, she is currently a frequent guest DJ at several area clubs, but is constantly striving for better and more. If she has her way, this DJ's journey will lead her to nothing short of global dominance and the invasions are only just beginning.
No Gimmicks. No multi-colored plastic hair and fashion shit. No programs that do the mixing for you. Just hard beats that will knock the air out of your lungs. You will love every second.
Beginning January 8, 2009, you can catch DJ Totentanz every Thursday night at Infection X, a brand new industrial night held at Ulana's in Philadelphia!

Seriously. Last night was awesome. Thank you for gracing the ghetto with your divine industrial presence. I tried to dance, but my headcold was like "no".
With an assembly that includes members of Ministry (Warner Bros.) and Thrill Kill Kult (Rykodisc), it's obvious project .44 has a firm grasp on the aggro/industrial/tek metal scene...
