    DJ Tremendo! The future of the Swiss house music scene definitely belongs to him . With his productions on the well known U.S. house music label Subliminal and DJ sets in world renowned clubs such as Space in Ibiza he ranks amongst today's shooting stars. The young pleasant Italo-Swiss DJ Tremendo alias Davide Mereu proves that to have unrestrained passion, dedication and effort is still worthwhile in the music business. His career started when he was still quite young and he is set to be around for a very long time. Tremendo was born on the 27 th of April 1977 in Solothurn a town in the German speaking part of Switzerland. From a very early age his life has been shaped by electronic music . As a teenager all the money he earned was spent on music, at that time he had a love of U.S House / Garage. With his limited budget he had to play with cheap equipment but it was enough for him to indulge in his passion. His friends and colleagues were really enthusiastic about his playing and Tremendo started in 1993 to perform at small parties. Here was a young DJ who could play! He was a great success. The was a small problem though, his name, it was a bit confusing for his fans because the Italian Tremendo in German means Terrible but as Tremendo himself always points out, he was baptised with the name by his mother . A star was born! About a year his first gigs Tremndo started to receive regular bookings at parties and events in Switzerland. Another high point was when around 1997 Tremendo was asked to spin the wheels of steel alongside Mr Mike & DJ Djaimin at the legendary live dance music show Pump It Up on Swiss radio Couleur 3 . Finally he had shown what he could do on the airwaves and after this exposure Tremendo's fan base rapidly grew as more and more people were turned on by his sound and he soon got his first residency in the cult club Nachtsicht in Biberist not far from his hometown. Music played a big part in the life of DJ Tremendo and he wanted to use his knowledge and musical instinct to do something which benefited other DJ's and keep him closely involved with the music he loved. So in 1998 he started work as musical advisor and purchaser for a record store and with the contacts he made amongst labels and DJ's soon more avenues began opening up for him. Now working in the record store and getting regular DJ gigs, Tremendo swathe production of his own tracks as a new creative challenge so in the year 2000 he started to produce, at the World View Studios in Zurich with the collaboration of studio owner Giuseppe Calabro. The passion, motivation and effort was noticed 3 years later when Tremendo's production Walk Watch Drink made many labels start paying attention to his talent. The person who paid the most attention was Erick Morillo who signed the song for his Subliminal record label and promised Tremendo a world wide release. Eventually the track could be found up in the record cases of the worlds leading DJ's and rapidly provided Tremendo with appearances in Salzburg, Munich, Rimini and as far as Miami at the Winter Music Conference. To top it all in the summer of 2004 Tremendo played at the most popular party in the most famous after hours club of the moment We LoveSundays @ Space Ibiza. As this short bio is being written Tremendo maintains a strong following in Switzerland and he now makes regular appearances on radio Couleur 3's live dance party Groove Lift. He plays in all the major clubs in Switzerland alongside world famous DJ's like, Frankie Knuckles, Erick Morillo, Bob Sinclar, Harry Romero and Martin Solveig to name just a few. Weekdays sees Tremendo working in his position of A+R at Mr Mike's Map Dance record label where he is also responsible for new product released by Map. One thing is absolutely clear we can expect a lot more from DJ Tremendo. With his coming productions, DJ gigs in Switzerland and trips abroad.
