Valique has started his musical career in mid 90s as an arranger and musician in several electronic live projects, gradually shifting from raw jungle/industrial music to diverse forms of nu-jazz/funk/soul/disco/house/breaks.
As an arranger/xylophonist/percussionist has recorded an album "In 7 Themes" with Jglee Dub band, released on Roff Technologies/Moscow/2003. Check what's been done on the Jglee Dub profile among top-friends.
The year of 2004 has been almost entirely devoted to the unique project at the coast of Goa, India - original design, construction and musical maintenance of club "Butterfly". It has become a challenging alternative to the average local Goa/Psy trance scene, as the club has promoted jazzy live performances, afro-beat/house/disco/breaks DJ sets on the Indian coastline.
The album "Music For Potatoe Countries" has been partially composed and arranged in India, including tracks that contain sound backgrounds recorded while travelling and studying Indian classical music. The final touch was added in personal studio in Moscow as well as bringing in trumpet, alto-sax, guitar, percussion, xylophone live performances. Though the album had been basically ready in 2005, it was released on self-run Vehicle Records indie label in 2006.
In the field of ethnic/world music Valique has recorded a re-work album of classical Russian folk and war songs with the sweet voice of Natalya Bondareva, giving the nu-jazz/soul/funk/russo-beat interpretations to the anthems of Russian composers' school. The album "For the Father's Land" was released on Gigant Records/Moscow in May 2005.
Particularilly interested in Indian music, Valique cooperated with the Russian-Sweedish film-maker Sam Khlebanov on the soundtrack to his documentary "Galle Road". It turned out to be the visual diary of several volunteers acting in Sri-Lanka after the Tsunami disaster, accompained with original deep-house/modern classical/Indian musical cocktail. The film was presented on the Goteborg Film Festival on 3rd of February 2006. The film received a prize on "Stalker" Film Festival in Moscow in 2006.
The first Russian 12 inch "Taking Your Seat" out on Freestyle Records/UK in March 26, 2007 received a massive support from dj's and collectors world-wide. The second single "Let Go (Trouble Girl)" (8th of May 2008) can still be spotted amongst bestsellers in charts of Juno. The full CD album "R.A.W." [Russians At Work] hit the stores on 8th of September 2008.
