I love comics, horror and exploitation movies, dancing at nightclubs, exercise and weight training, MST3K, and video games.
Music
^^Ladytron, ABC, Adult., Aphex Twin, Bjork, Black Strobe, Chemical Brothers, Chromeo, Combichrist, Concrete Blonde, Crystal Method, The Cure, Curve, Deadmau5, Digital Dog, Filthy Dukes, Freemasons, GusGus, Human League, Kissy Sellout, Giorgio Moroder, Mount Sims, Negativland, New Order, Gary Numan, Our Daughters Wedding, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Pet Shop Boys, Pizzicato Five, The Smiths, Felix Da Housecat, Les Rythmes Digitales, The Other Two, Science Park, Freezepop, She Wants Revenge, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Martin Rushent, Mount Sims, Soday Inc, Soft Cell, Julee Cruise, Utah Saints, Hooverphonic, S'Express, Magnetic Fields, Belle and Sebastian, the Cardigans, Brian "BT" Transeau
Movies
"Normal" films: Brazil, A History of Violence, Chinatown, L.A. Confidential, Touch of Evil, Sunset Boulevard, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, The Unbelievable Truth, Double Indemnity, High Society, X2: X-Men United (SO much better than the first), Boogie Nights, Amelie, Clue, Fargo, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mommie Dearest, Jackie Brown, Harold and Maude, Clockwatchers, Aliens, Heavenly Creatures, Annie Hall, Heathers, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the '50's version is good, but the 1978 version ROCKS!).
Horror/Exploitation:
^^Suspiria (Argento's masterpiece, though Opera is growing on me as a close second), Halloween, Dawn of the Dead (the original 1979 Romero film, thankyouverymuch, though I must admit the remake was pretty darn good itself, even though it was very different), Fright Night, The Host, Cannibal Ferox, Last House on the Left, 28 Days Later, Black Christmas (again, the original - the remake was a MESS), Buio Omega, Zombie Flesh Eaters (Zombi 2), Cannibal Holocaust, Zombie Holocaust (Zombies AND Cannibals?! Sign me up!), Cannibal Apocalypse, An American Werewolf in London, Last House on Dead End Street, Contamination, Eraserhead, The Lost Boys
Directors:
^^David Lynch, Hal Hartley, George Romero, Billy Wilder, John Waters, Alfred Hitchcock, Dario Argento, David Cronenberg, Joe D'Amato, Ruggero Deodato, P.T. Anderson, Joss Whedon, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Tim Burton, Terry Gilliam, Lucio Fulci
Television
I HATE TELEVISION.
Having said that, there have been the occasional shows over the years that have struck my fancy. These include:
^^American Gothic
^^Mystery Science Theater 3000, Twin Peaks, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Galaxy Rangers, Six Feet Under, Invader Zim, Lost, The Sopranos, American Gothic, Firefly, and America's Funniest Home Videos. For bubblegum fluff while I'm at work (I've got the mega-cable package at work - go figure), I enjoy X-Play and Attack of the Show on G4. Oh, and the first Tales of the City mini-series is outstanding.
^^The greatest program ever produced for television.
Books
^^Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons (a masterpiece of the graphic novel medium if there ever was one); Eighty-Sixed by David Feinberg; Preacher by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon; A Place At The Table by Bruce Bawer; Coraline by Neil Gaiman; WE3 by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely; Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead series; Well That About Wraps It Up For God by Oolon Colluphid.
Heroes
^^Jack Knight, Ellen Ripley, Irma Munson, Tom Servo, Dale Cooper, Xander Harris and Jessica Jones. And my Dad.
And though I'm not a fan of Star Wars, this guy is most DEFINITELY my hero:
Okay, I HATE reading people's profiles when they're all cluttered with "Which Full House character are you?" or, "Which color of the rainbow are you?", but I had to put this one in. I'm putting it way on the bottom of the profile, too, so nyah. Does this make me a hypocrite?

Dan a.k.a. DJ ZOMBI Spinning next on Sunday, Dec. 27th at Wonderland @ the Gulu-Gulu Cafe, then Decade:80s Night @ the Bangkok Paradise on Wed. Jan. 6th, both in Salem, MA! Posted at 1:26 PM Dec 26 view more
Okay, not really. My main goals are to use MySpace to network with other DJs and to meet up with cool people in the area. Is there anybody in this area that possesses that rare combination of geek and cool? If you live in the area and love the '80's, horror movies, video games, and/or comics, drop me a line! Yeah, I'm gay too, but so what. I'm looking to hear from men/women, gay/straight, whatever. Ya dig?
Some of my interests/obsessions include: new & old electronic music (new: Ladytron, Felix Da Housecat, Les Rythmes Digitales, a wide variety of new electro remixers; old: Human League, OMD, Gary Numan, Soft Cell, New Order), comics (Alan Moore, Morrison's Doom Patrol, Y: The Last Man, The Walking Dead), Italian horror/exploitation movies (particularly the works of Argento, Fulci, & D'Amato), video games (especially platformers like Psychonauts; Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy; Sly Cooper; and the Ratchet & Clank series), and some TV (pretty much just Twin Peaks, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Six Feet Under and Mystery Science Theater 3000). I also occasionally DJ as a hobby, and enjoy keeping fit with our small home gym. I don't own a mobile phone. I don't drink, smoke, or "do drugs". Except caffeine - can't seem to knock that Mountain Dew (no coffee, though).
Would love to meet people in the North Shore, MA area with similar interests! I'm friendly, so say hi!
Oh, and THIS GUY:
ADDENDUM: I'm always up for meeting new people, but random friend requests with no explanation can be annoying. If you like my profile and are interested in becoming "MySpace Friends", then tell me so in a message! This will open the floor for lots of great discussion about the wonderful things I'm sure we have in common. Also, be forewarned: if you're the kind to post 3+ "bulletins" a day, each of which are just "surveys" that nobody ever reads anyway (like I give a shit what color shirt you're wearing now or what you had for breakfast), then you may be DELETED. Have a nice day!
Oh, and all you MySpace people - LEARN TO SPELL!
Sadly, Hartley himself has said that due to legal tie-ups, unfortunately his indie masterpiece, "Trust", may never see a domestic DVD release. He did not condemn, however, people posting the entire movie on YouTube! Do you have some time on your hands? Start here:
