Influences
Left to right: SONNY SANDERS, CARL DAVIS & LOUIS "SATCHMO" ARMSTRONG in recording session
Sonny Sanders years later joined DK as the arranger and associate producer for DK DAVIS from the year 1981 till 1989. Sonny was the producer of the song "I FOUGHT THE LAW" which was a very successful recording and video for DK.
"For many years Sonny and I worked side by side not only as associates but as great friends. Much of what I have accomplished in the studio over the last few years as a producer or recording artist I attribute to the teachings of Sonny Sanders.
I want to take a moment to say, "Thank you My friend. GOD BLESS"

NOW – DK Davis embarks on the next phase of his evolving career to bring his
unique sounds of combining conventional elements with the influences of country
swing, rock ‘n’ roll, rhythm & blues, and rockabilly. He has worked with such
diverse songwriters as Gary Puckett, Jim Peterik (of “Eye of the Tiger” fame),
mainstream Nashville tunesmiths Byron Hill and Paul Dolman; and with
Emmy-winning song writer Ed Tossing on DK’s hit single, “As One,” which grabbed
the top 20 spot both nationally and internationally.
His hit song, “Return to Sender,” won him several awards including “National
Dance Song of the Year” and “Highest Ranking New Artist of 2002.” It climbed to 9 on the national music charts.
Recording in Chicago, Los Angeles and Nashville, and drawing on the considerable
talents in those cities, his new recordings bring a breath of fresh air to the
constantly changing music scene. Backed by a traditional rhythm section (with a
full string section on ballads), DK’s use of brass adds a “punch” to his sound.
DK and his studio band, The Sharks, are now touring
together. The Sharks lend a high caliber of musicianship to every show that DK
performs. Together, DK Davis and The Sharks are a crowd pleaser everywhere they
perform.
Davis’s latest single, “Don’t Cha Know,” has enjoyed top 30 chart action in

in the States and is moving up the regional and national charts. In the past 18
months, DK has had regional, national and international recognition with his
last three singles: “Return to Sender,” “As One,” and “Don’t Cha Know.”
