   About David Kraut -- Songwriter
From New York City's Bitter End to the studios of VH1, David Kraut has been entertaining audiences with his unique brand of piano-based pop and country for over a decade.

Two of his songs, "Liquid Sunshine" and "Change of a Dress", have been cut by new Texas artist Shiela Harrison for her self-titled debut album -- other songwriters on the album include Bill Champlin (keyboardist and vocalist for Chicago [he sang "Look Away"]) and Chris Omartian (Pink, Hillary Duff).

David also just signed his first Nashville publishing contract for the song " A Day Job and a Dream" with My Three Kids Music (BMI). The song is also the lead song for "Hits They Missed", a charity album featuring songs that were submitted to the American Idol songwriting contest, but didn't make the finals. A portion of the proceeds from the project will go to benefit the Oakland School for the Arts in Oakland, CA, so buy your album today at www.melodiesthatmatter.com.

Hey David,

Good to hear from you!.
I still have the Berklee email. It was probably full though.
I am still living in LA, working and preparing an EP.
What are you up to? Are you going to the Road Rally this year?

Cheers,

Alex.

David Kraut -- Songwriter - Join us in congratulating record producer Kim Copeland for her work on the Rachel Williams album, Lonely At The Bottom. Check this great review by R.K.
Oermann with Music Row Magazine on Rachel's current single, The Only Thing Harder Than Leaving.

"She has the goods. This creeps up on you with cat’s paws. The languid pace, echoing instruments, spacious production and her hushed, aching delivery are all immensely seductive. The lyric of leaving home is full of terrific details. And her falsetto leaps in the bridge are like little daggers to the heart. A mini masterpiece. This, by the way, is the third single in a row that I have raved about from this performer.

Ahhh, so you're the writer of "Liquid Sunshine" and "Change of a Dress" sung by Shiela that requested me today. Well, I must say, David, you are an excellent writer. I see you listed Steve Seskin as one of your influences. Now he's one excellent role model. I met him at a songwriter seminar. What a great writer and down to earth guy. Was an honor to spend a few days with him. I noticed, also, that your bio mentions The Bitter End in NYC. Was wondering if you are aware of Tina Shafer's Songwriting Circle she runs there every other Monday? She has some serious cuts with Celine and her husband Peter Zizzo has launched a few careers and has many cuts with many major artists. I trained vocally with her for a few years. Anyway, they have a songwriting competition going on right now. Check it on out. Also, if you look on my page, in my top friends is Bill DiLuigi. You should check him on out. He's my ex but we're still friends. He's a writer in Nashville and writes with Jim Femino among others. Jim most recently wrote "JUST GOT STARTED LOVIN' YOU" by James Otto which hit # 1. My song on my page "I Will Remember You" was written by Bill DiLuigi, Jim Femino and I. Anyway, sorry to ramble. I'm glad you found me. Remember, it all begins with a song.
Ciao for now, Sierra

David...my wife and I really love Liquid Sunshine. I just added it to my wife's profile. We've listened to Shiela Harrison sing it many times, but this is the first time I heard your version and I think it's awesome! I'm not sure which version I like better.
