About me:
DKY was a very popular rock club that ran every Sunday night in Studio 24, Edinburgh. It ran from April 16th 2000 to May 10th 2004. Ever since it closed people have been begging to have it back again so on the 16th of September 2007 it relaunched. Sadly all the people who had begged so much to have it back forgot that for it to survive they would have to actually go to it. After one month DKY closed again.
Basically, DKY was one of the few rock clubs that wasn't totally anal and elitist about it's music. We're willing to admit that just because we like metal/goth/punk/etc it doesn't mean that we can't enjoy other stuff too. Our main aim with DKY was atmosphere. We did everything we could to cultivate a fun and enjoyable atmosphere where our punters could actually admit that they sometimes enjoy dancing to Five or Britney (along with the usual metal etc) without the fear of being sneered at by the "Elite". DKY was not just a club, it was a party with a dancefloor.
In DKY's prvious incarnation we held several one off or semi-regular special events like pyjama parties, Cock Rock nights, Trad-Goth nights... These events were very popular but sadly this time round we didn't last long enough for the special events to return.
