New/refreshed songs Romans 7, Missing, Icarus and Lilies & Sparrows are now up for your listening pleasure.
DLDown were an Aberdeen based acoustic/rock/jazz duo, playing a variety of interesting original tunes, usually involving odd harmonies, unusual time signatures, tasteful or raucous sax solos, and plenty of looping of the loop pedal to create a sound which was often bigger than just the two of us. For the time being, it's just Jo, in Edinburgh. Tim will be welcomed back whenever he's around.
Oh, and by the way, the D and the L stand for "Don't" and "Look" respectively. Head to www.dldown.co.uk for more info and downloads etc...
North Atlantic Oscillation's "Hollywood Has Ended", from the forthcoming album Grappling Hooks, is featured in this month's Police Box compilation from TenTracks. It's here:
In case you haven't heard, TenTracks is a new music delivery service where you can buy exclusive 10-track compilations for £1, i.e. a mere 10p per track.
This month NAO are in the illustrious company of the excellent Found, Orkestra Del Sol, Fence Collective luminaries James Yorkston and King Creosote and exactly 5 others. Once again, that's £1 for ALL TEN TRACKS. Not bad, really.
How was the gig? I was on holiday, but I will have to come to one soon! We are playing in Glasgow tomorrow- our first gig in about 2 and a half months- so let's hope we're not rubbish. How are things?
Hey, thanks very much Jo. It was really good of you to come down; glad you enjoyed it. Ta for the kind words too - a fine line between being 'happy and relaxed' and just 'drunk', of course, but I like to think we're brave enough to straddle that line. ;)
Afraid we've got a prior appointment on wednesday, but hopefully we'll get to see you again before long. Any other gigs coming up?
hey jo, hows it going with you? are you getting married or am i getting confused...maybe youve already got married and i missed it!!! either way congratulations an if theres no marriage business going on at all then i hope there may be soon, yeah
Hi Jo, thanks for the comment. Kieran will be pleased to hear you like his new geetar! Sorry my banter was non-existent, I was in a bit of an angry daze after the gig because of messing up that middle song! Pleased you enjoyed it though! Also, there should be some new songs up soon on the Myspace.
THURSDAY THIS WEEK!!! LAST ONE BEFORE THE NEW YEAR.

We had a splendid night tonight. It was nice meeting, and indeed playing with you.
It's a shame there were so few people there. Also, listening to the songs on here and the tunes from your gig at the Merlin, it's a shame there was no sax at the Ark.
Having said that, you were excellent on your own.
Hope to hear the full Dl Down experience at some point soon though.
Hello! yeh good gig the other week-really enjoyed your sound and we were all suitably impressed with your songs and performance. Hope to see you around soon! Adios.
Hiya Jo. Good to hear from you. Apologies for not making it along to your gig - was in Fife visiting my folks. Hope it went well. Be sure to give me a shout next time. Cheers, Iain.
hey jo, yeah, totally be up for some chat! i had no idea you were down here now. apparently the person i was with the other night also knows you, jamie druitt? apparently he shared a tent with your brother once... haha. and you also seem to know darren thornberry, who i sorta know from home. how SMALL is the world! heehee, speak to you soon. x
