About me:
. My name is Dawn Anderson, and I was born and raised in Connecticut, but now live in Milan Italy with my husband and two daughters, where I teach English as a foreign language. I am also a writer, and have had several short stories published online and in print. My first novel, AUTUMN LEAVES . can be purchased online or from Barnes and Noble by clicking HERE. LAZY AFTERNOON is now published and available. This book is a collection of short stories and poems, ranging from the dark to the romantic. THE CHRISTMAS BOX, also published by CYNIC MAGAZINE, and also won third place in their annual writing competition, along with UNTIL REUNITED which tied for second place in the same competition held this year. IN HIS COMPANY and A DAUGHTER'S THOUGHTS ABOUT HER HEAVENLY FATHER, both published by THE CHRISTIAN POET. THE SILENCE of the FALL and MISFORTUNE'S DRAMA, two poems that appeared earlier on my blog at My Space, have received honorable mentions from THE SECRET ATTIC,a magazine hailing from the UK. A short story for the holiday season called, THE GIFT, has just been published by The Online Cynic Magazine and has won an honorable Mention in their annual Christmas Competition. Who I'd like to meet:
I'm a big fan of Ann Tyler and have read most of her books, my favorite being Ladder of Years. It would be a thrill to meet her. I'm also a big fan of Joan Rivers. Her life story is amazing to me. Every time she's been knocked down, she's found the strength to pick herself up and begin again.Details

Movies
I enjoy all types of movies, from thrillers to romance and comedies to old black and white classics, but I especially like movies that make you think about life. Some of my favorites are Perfume; The Story of a Murderer, Life as a House, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Funny Farm. As for the old classics, I like Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Rainmaker...usually anything with Cary Grant, Katherine or Audrey Hepburn.Television
Books
My favorite books are Ladder of Years and Breathing Lessons, both by Ann Tyler. Also A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, Perfume by Patrick Suskind, White Nights (short story) by Fyodor Dostoevsky, A Mystic Garden by Gunilla Norris and The Prosperity Bible, to name a few. Some of my other favorite authors are Anita Shreve, Patrick Gale, Jodi Picoult, Elizabeth Gilbert and Jane Potter. I like books that deal with relationships, and how people and families interact with one another. I also like books that deal with what I call, the human condition.
