Books
My favorite books are Ladder of Years and Breathing Lessons, both by Ann Tyler. Some of my other favorite authors are Paulo Coehlo,Jennifer Solow,Anita Shreve,Adele Parks, and Jane Potter. I like books that deal with relationships, and how people interact with one another.
My name is Dawn Wilson, and I was born and raised in Connecticut, but now live in Milan Italy with my two daughters, where I teach English as a foreign language. I am also a writer, and have had several short stories published online and in print. My first novel, AUTUMN LEAVES.
can be purchased online or from Barnes and Noble by clicking HERE.
LAZY AFTERNOON is now published and available. This book is a collection of short stories and poems, ranging from the dark to the romantic. Much of the work in this book deals with what I call the "human condition." It is available by clicking HERE , and is also available through Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
If anyone would be interested in reading one of my award winning stories, you can go to the following link AN UNCONDITIONAL LOVE . You'll find it listed as the fourth entry.
There are many excellent works of fiction that have been published on this site. These stories have now been published in print, and the book can be purchased by visiting the Joyous Publishing Website, or through Barnes and Noble.
Anyone interested in reading some of my other work, can do so on Authors Den, by clicking here.
I also have a new blog spot called FRAGMENTS of LIFE which displays some of my poetry, and I have recently been asked to be a feature contributing author at PUBLICLITERATURE.org. The organization is a partner to the University of North Carolina, Librivox and Project Gutenberg. You can view my work as well as others by clicking the link.
The following is some of my other work that has been published. Each can be read by visiting the link to my Author's Den site.
INDEPENDENCE and RED HANDED, both published by STILL CRAZY LITERARY MAGAZINE.
BEAUTY QUEEN, published by CYNIC MAGAZINE.
FACE to FACE and SUBMERSION, both published by THE FARSIDE of MIDNIGHT.
THE CHRISTMAS BOX, also published by CYNIC MAGAZINE, and also won third place in a writing competition, along with UNTIL REUNITED which tied for second place in the same competition held this year.
IN HIS COMPANY and A DAUGHTER'S THOUGHTS ABOUT HER HEAVENLY FATHER, both published by THE CHRISTIAN POET. THE SILENCE of the FALL and MISFORTUNE'S DRAMA, two poems that appeared earlier on my blog at My Space, have received honorable mentions from The Secret Attic,a magazine hailing from the UK. The magazine can be previewed and purchased by clicking The Secret Attic
I'm a big fan of Ann Tyler and have read most of her books, my favorite being Ladder of Years. It would be a thrill to meet her. I'm also a big fan of Joan Rivers. Her life story is amazing to me. Everytime she's been knocked down, she's found the strength to pick herself up and begin again.
If you write the words, I'll do the photos and we can have our own little card company. We can call it Special Moments by Dawn. Kinda catchy, huh? Passion Flower
Hi Dawn...I'm glad you liked the picture. I find of all the flowers I have the Lotus and the Passion Flower are the most intricate in their makeup. Truly amazing. It makes me happy these pics make you feel good.
Thanks for adding color to my days Dawn! Have a beautiful weekend. p.s. I spotted two eagles across the Mississippi River, watching over their young... I've been watching them through a spotting scope out my window... it makes me think of your poem everytime! Take care. Sincere, xo Dew

Hello Dawn, Hope things are going well on your side of this world... we have finally defrosted on this side of the world! I'm visiting Daytona Beach for one week to tan this winterized body (smile). The beach is one place, I feel very inspired to write... Take care and peace your way. Bless, Dew
