    This is why I was never any good at the old 'Desert Island' picks. It so subjective. Music is a background theme to my life. It reflects the mood I am in or a stage in life that I am at. My likes are expansive - from Orbital to Roy Orbison. But If I made a list these would be on it;

Well let's see, I like Northern Exposure. No wait, that's been off the air for years. There's Brimstone. Oh ya, gone too. Oh, I love Freaks and Geeks! What cancled? How about Undeclared? Hmm, Millenium? Well I guess a show based around prophecies of the year 2000 wasn't going to last. I used to watch a lot of TV, but TV hasn't been about me in years. I still do turn it on out of habit. Hear are a few shows I watch:

Hmmm, Never really been big on the Heroes trip. Kinda like worshipping a false idol. These days there is too much idolization going on. I think we should focus on ourselves before we pour all our adoration onto others. But if you must, make it worthy. I like Humanitarians, let's say the given; Ma Theresa, Gandhi, ah... William Shatner? Princess Di and her minefield work is admireable. If I were to keep it to the creative arts then Howard Pyle would be on the list. So would Drew Struzan, Nagel, Leroy Neiman,Max Miedinger, Neville Brody, Alphonse Mucha, Cole Phillips, Leyendecker and Bernie Fuchs to name a few. Oh and everyone in my life deserves a medal for putting up with my shit
These next videos I posted not becuase I like them, well actually I do like them. But for the nostalgic reasons. They were playing on TMF when I lived in Amsterdam and they now remind me of that wonderful time. I know nothing about Galloen, wouldn't mind knowing the girl in the video though, and as for prodigy; there's a guy at MacBike Marnixstraat that reminds me of the singer. These are just examples of how constant repetition can make you remember things. Oh, and the sexy ladies help, but eh, Amsterdam if full of sexy ladies. Am I right? .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
This next one is just a joy to see again. It ran every Saturday during my youth. Hilarious Flashback...

About me:

.. This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
Meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

The Lab Rat
About me – well, fudge. I am a psychotic, sarcastic bastard, when I fall into my funk. I tend to see the situation as it is and comment accordingly. Tact was never my strong suit, unless a free meal was involved. Sadly, I confess, I am a reactionary. I understand the heavy burden of potential and the human soul and grow weary and tired waiting for the jack-asses of the world to apply themselves to something greater than themselves or some trivial self-absorbed ‘project’ – myself included. In life and in general I tend to find myself in line behind the sleep-walking shitters of the world. I can dish it out, and can take it, but realize I will rebut with a heapin’ helpin’ of my hospitality… So, you have been warned, MoFo, click “add a friend’ if you dare. Delete me altogether – I don’t care – this is myspace, not yourspace. Oh and did I call you a MoFo yet? MoFo…

The Artist
Hackneyed Designer in search of his roots. I slipped down the slippery slope into Web Development. It’s a good paycheck, but at the end of the (long) day I didn’t feel creatively fulfilled. With the temperament of the internet nine months of work can never see the light of day. An arbitrary decision in a boardroom, a direction change, a Venture Capitalist pull-out or a plain old ‘bust’ make things disappear overnight. I am painting again. Traditional illustration and design never are out of fashion. Which makes me ask the question “when does traditional become contemporary? ”

The Person
I have a self-deprecating sense of humor, hence the ‘hackneyed’ comment. I can gab all day with you, have an opinion on EVERYTHING, but at the end of the day you won’t know much about me. Even though we are miles apart, most of my friends I have had since childhood. You have to grow up with me to put up with me. They have their opinions about me, but just like me they are loyal. We will have each others back when we need it. Growing up on the outskirts of Detroit, where social class and street names were measured in ‘miles’, we endearingly called each other ‘loser’. Until I moved away I didn’t realize how damaging negative reinforcements like that were to your sense of being. So I began new understandings of the World. I recognize the difference between ‘universal truth’ and ‘personal truth.’  I am optimistic and have faith in mankind but am disappointed with its shortcomings as I am with my own. I am trying to be better…

The Spirit
I have included the spirit becuase its a large part of who I am or moreover am trying to be. I am not religious in the traditional sense. I repsect others journeys as I ask them to respect mine. I feel every experience has somethig to offer in our journey and that everyone is right as long as everyone is wrong. Until we agree we know nothing abut ourselves and our place in the reality we have created for each other we can not move forward. I can learn from a Wiccan as much as I can from a Catholic or a self-proclaimed Guru. But I can learn the most from a soul with a good heart. Which makes me ask the question “why do they call it New Age when most of the concepts are very old? ”

Ah, it'll be far too sane and sober, well within the walls of all decency, but I think some impure thoughts all the while.

Many thanks, good man. All is appreciated.

How ruddy spiffingly marvellous to hear from you my good man, it seems like an age ago since we chewed on life's gristle!! Hope Obama lives up to the gargantuan expectations of him, but lets face it, even a little piece of pink putty called Cedric would be better than the last fella! Hope all is well with you and yours, mate! And Seasonal Greetings to you all, Regards, Kris Kringle.

Ah, good man. I'd been hoping that your world's smooth and spinning in all proper directions.
Things are well here; just looking to get through the Yuletide, which crept up like something very creepy and fast, a marsupial or something.
    Great to hear from you.
