demo for the solo listener EP

Yes, I am writing my own bio. I've played piano since I was a toddler. Bashing on a tiny octave and a half keyboard and slowly figuring out the subtleties of one-key-at-a-time melodies. I learned by ear, watching my dad practice for church. (And yes, I am the son of a preacher man.) At the age of 13 I started writing my own music, focusing on writing and composing, though I can't read or write music very well. At the time it was all instrumental. But after a year of fine tuning a handful of songs, I started writing lyrics and songs poured out of me. I have a book of lyrics I've forgotten the music for.
I bought my first guitar Christmas of 2003 or 2004 and started learning to play and writing immediately. During that time I became part of a duo project called Me and The Kid with Zack Ciras (The Accident That Led Me To The World). We recorded and played out until early 2008 when our respective lives and responsibilities forced the project to a halt.
Now with my acoustic EP "demo for the solo listener" I've begun a new batch of songs taking me further into the possibilities of songwriting and exploration of different styles, vocal techniques, improvisation and so on. 2009 is proving to be exciting, important, and as open-ended as this biography.
Hey thanks man1 Bill's actually just begun working on a full length. That won't be out for a while though, so you can pick up his newest EP on our MySpace! It's pretty different from the songs on the one you have.
I really like No One But You, it's a real good song!
Dude! SCoL was pretty rad! Not as big as the Northern but that was expected. The music was great and weather panned out perfectly for the main day. There was also an absurd amount of four square. We have written a bunch of new stuff and are both learning some new instruments. We have a ton of songs and ideas and people in mind/on board to help us with recording. AT some point soon we're going to work out the logistics of a new album and how to make it (geography blows!). Beyond that there are a bunch of other fun things happening including a group of us getting together to collectively write a novel within the month of November! I hope you can make it down here on tour at some point- it'd be great to have ya! Plan an extra day or two for hangin' about! Congrats on the EP developments and live recordings. Let me know when the live stuff is up! Are you playing your piano out more? I'm learning how to play one! - Jesse
Yes! I was at the HUMANWINE CD Release show. It was an awesome night. And I really enjoyed your playing and singing. You have a wonderful voice! I'm glad Holly and M@ asked you to come play in Cambridge! Hope you play in the Boston area again sometime.
Duder! Long time no speaksy! How goes the musics? You still living in Webdah? Things here are perty good, getting better from where they were (which was way too hectic and work-oriented, with no money or time to do much of anything music/arts-oriented). We have a ton of songs that need to be recorded but have not yet figured out the logistics of getting that done. Also, we suck at maintaining our internet aliases (both personal and band related) which has proven to be a nuisance given that most people who give a dung about us or our band are spread out all over the place. When are you going to visit GA? You should come down for the Southern CoL! It's going to be awesome! You could play with a couple others during the Sunday acoustic music between the wiffle ballin'!
You will most definitely see me tonight! Heh, even though I've gotten 3hrs of sleep max every night this week, I already RSVP'd. And I dont want to be one of those assholes that don't show up even though they said they would.
Indeed I was and you did -although, I think you might have given me a blank? And that's where myspace came in to save the day. See you around the haze :)
hia Dave. our band dental PLan is playing Ralph's tonight. If you're free and could make it out your support is greatly appreciated. Otherwise hope all's well. what's been up?
