It wasn't too long ago when Singapore only had the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) as an option for Audio Engineers-to-be... Fresh GCE 'O' Levels graduates who bore the passion for music and audio engineering had to either join the private insitution and narrow their career prospects or simply forsake their passion.
Thankfully in the year 2002, Singapore Polytechnic (SP) lecturers Michael Spicer (former 80's keyboardist of Australian folkband Redgum) and Timothy Rodrigues (former mediacorp sound chief) suggested to the school board of directors that SP ought to offer a course which was similar to that of the SAE, so as to allow students an opportunity to graduate with an audio engineer polytechnic cert.
Obviously, just two teachers wont be able to handle such a course by themselves, so SP brought in Tan Tin Hee (a singapore music scholar), Jimmy Ye (campus superstar judge/composer), Geoffrey Low (audio engineer for stefanie sun, sek loso, maia lee etc), Babes Condess (singapore idol trainer), James Ang, Erica Wong and many more talented individuals to lecture and teach in this course. The pioneer batch of DMAT students came to be in 2005.
We specialise in Music Theory, Audio Engineering Skills, Business In Music. So if you have a passion for music, audio engineering and technology such as MIDI and synthesizers, come join us at SP (only 40 are admitted annually).

we definitely wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
For
the month of July, we have three shows lined up. this coming
saturday,4th July 09, it will be Adam's very first show with us. It
will be held at *scape and tickets are being sold at $6. Event is
called BREAK THE CHAINS! and we will be the first band up at 4pm. :)
