Desi & Priest of D’Molls
D’blond bombers are back. The dynamic duo, Desi Rexx and S.S. Priest of
80’s slammin’ glam rockers D’MOLLS, are back with the hardest-hitting
4-piece rock ‘n' roll conglomeration of the modern era. Excess to the
extreme is an understatement...
Backed by legendary drummer Trent Andersen (also w/ The Dogs Divine) and
double bass threats, Tristan Graves and Triple-T Fuller, this hard rockin’
extravaganza leaves Van Halen back in 1984, with the Stones exiled on Main
Street, and Zeppelin walking up their stairway.
It all started back in the day when Desi started the Hollywood glam rock
movement as the outrageous front man for his band, St. Valentine.
Meanwhile, S.S. Priest took sleaze metal to the outer limits and back with
his illegitimate love child, Diamond Rexx. When these two hooked up in
D’Molls, the band proved to be unstoppable receiving a contract with the
mighty Atlantic Records and releasing their self- titled debut album in
1988. D’Molls video for the track “777” made MTV’s “Headbanger’s Ball” Top
10 request list, while the album quickly became the 2nd best-selling import
in the UK (behind Ozzy Osbourne).
D’Molls went on to share the stage with the likes of Motley Crue, Guns n’
Roses, Poison, Ratt, Warrant, E’Nuff Z’Nuff, Paul Stanley of KISS, The
Go-Go’s, The Bangles, BulletBoys, The Love Hammers, and many more.
After the release of D’Molls second Atlantic album,“Warped”, Desi would
switch gears and and tour Europe as guitarist for D’Molls former
manager/Van Halen vocalist, David Lee Roth. Desi would also record
soundtrack songs for the hit movie “Wayne’s World” while he taught star,
Tia Carrera, how to front a rock n’ roll band. Ringo Starr’s son, Zak
Starkey (now drummer for both The Who & Oasis), also played in Desi’s side
project, Rexx & Johnson.
The stories of stolen tour busses and bloody fights, broken ribs and five
CDs worth of previously unreleased tunes are all true. But that was then.
In 2009, this is a much tamer, more presentable and respectable musical
duo… well, not quite. If you want to play it safe, sit back about 30 rows,
or better yet, go see someone else. The reunion of Desi & Priest began in
early 2007 when they joined forces onstage for a sold-out performance on
the Hollywood Sunset Strip where they would record and film eight songs for
their new live CD titled “Double Platinum”, which will be released on
Retrospect Records in the US and Japan in June.
The reunion of these two great rock ‘n' roll talents fell together too
easily this time and felt too good to ignore. The impossible came to pass:
DESI & PRIEST of D’MOLLS
Superior musicianship, dangerously good looks, stage experience galore,
swashbuckling swagger, endless energy, and charisma to spare. The chemistry of Desi’s one-of-a-kind glass-shattering lead vocals and Priest’s
unparalleled 6-string wizardry is the stuff that myths are made of. There’s
Mick & Keith, Plant & Page, and there’s Desi & Priest. Back for the attack
with time-proven fan favorites & brand new 3-minute ear splitters. Real
rock ‘n roll is back.
