Music, quite obviously. Football - i have the fortune (i think) to be a rabid west ham fan. Being born in Chelmsford it just happened. Rollercoaster ride it certainly is and i won't have a word said against them. And hey, the hammers did win the world cup.
Music
Rock, indie, anything bluesy. Early jazz from king oliver onwards and including most of it. Oh hell, most music as long as those playing it can do! Rocker at heart though since getting hooked on the likes of UFO, Aerosmith, Rush and Van Halen(with diamond dave).
Movies
It would have to be Spinal Tap and the Blues Brothers. The scary thing about Tap was that whilst taking the p*!*, they were more musical than many bands i have come across, even when their drummer was combusting. And in Artie Fufkin they were involved with one of the true music industry legends!
Books
Binding, lots of pages with small writing? I know the sort of thing you mean, but rarely enough time. When there is time, mostly historical factual books.
Heroes
Small cadbury's chocolates aren't they? Aside from that, several from many walks of life. Family too - they are more real life ones. The trouble is those we see as heroes sometimes tend not to be as heroic as we first thought

The incomparable Tony Dowler from Manchester is back in these parts for one gig. How good is he? As a recent press review said "Guitarist as good as Jimmy Page wows audience..." Been addicted to music for as long as i can remember - well longer than that actually. Not just the tonal side but its expressive qualities - as a language music has more expression than any idiomatic language. As Heinekin may say, it reaches the parts other languages don't. Seen a whole host of mainly rock gigs down the years and although difficult to say what stands out as there were so many, at a push i would have to say Van Halen at Donington in 1984 and Rush a couple of years back in Manchester. 3 hours of superb music from 3 incredible musicians. Putting on live gigs, battle of the bands competitions, PA's, etc in the Glos area. As it says, keeping music live! Certainly not a money making excercise but hey, there is more to life. Had the great fortune to go through my youth during the vibrant live era of the eighties - that's the 1980's...it is really only now with the dearth of live music and bands that i can appreciate the huge choice we had then. The only way to get people to gigs is to do them! Unfortunately, a permanant running battle with media hyped music which endeavours to take the music making away from the musicians and into the cold clutches of corporate machinery.See the
Blog for more about that. This is about more than money though....
