Live Testimonials
"Firedaze set my pub alive. The throbbing sounds and sheer power of the music was electric. The crowd loved them and they were talked about for days. One of the best value for money bands I have ever booked in all my 40 years as a publican."
Brian Loring (Landlord)
The White Hart Inn. Ufton, Warwickshire
"Many thanks for entertaining our audience at the Tennis Club (as part of the Kenilworth Festival 2009) with your professional group of musicians. We all enjoyed the music played and the musical talent, particularly the last inspiring number!" (Fighting For Strangers) Julie Elliott, Organiser
CD Reviews
Firedaze have "a willingness to surprise and step outside the box musically". Triality, the debut album is a "blend of choppy bass-driven rockers, folk-style harmonies, bright, melodic fiddle and a New Wave rock edge." (Rock'n'Reel magazine, January 2008).
"What a hypnotic track that was! (If Not Now When) Wouldn't sound out of place at the Moseley Folk Festival - take note organisers for next year."
Little Chris, Brumcast 130 Get Wild, Sept 09
"Firedaze recognise no boundaries of definition and clearly benefit from that view. ... hear them once and that thumping throbbing drum sequence and bass drive, enriched with rocky folk-fiddle groove will stay in your head. It’s music for dancing, music for dreaming - ... Firedaze take multiple musical threads to create a tapestry of 21st Century folk." (www.folkwords.com, March 2008)

Firedaze plays original music that fuses folk, rock and dance rhythms. After spending much of last year recording their first album the band are now really enjoying doing much more of their first love which is playing live.
Here's the Firedaze story so far......
Firedaze emerged as a gigging 3-piece in 2006. The band was set up by Steff and String. They'd previously been in UK roots rock band Dead After Dark and they were joined in the new band by fiddle player Jen.
The band's debut album Triality was recorded over the next year and released right at the end of 2007.
In early 2008 there was a further line up change with the introduction of bodhran player Steve but in mid 2009 the band reverted to the original line up. Live dates now see Firedaze on stage with catchy fiddle melodies, strong vocal performances and a driving bass and drum track. 2010 should see the release of a new Firedaze album.
Live gigs currently feature most of the songs from Triality plus an ever growing number of new songs some of which should make it to the new album. The resulting sound is still-changing, ever-fresh, and guaranteed to make you want to dance. If the fiddle and guitar don't get you, the bass and drums certainly will.

As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith's the star that we glance Attending Christ's churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
thank you for accepting; yes - long time gone but how could I forget such a fresh and highly original sound----- Will check your official site too as I feel your cd is a real "must have" !
