I call my aesthetic approach "Zen Canadiana."

The fine art of imperfection is what interests me. I like rust and peeling paint. I like the kind of balance you get when an old shed has turned grey and sunk into its surroundings.

I play folk festivals, theatres, bars, coffe houses and house concerts with my tunes and my tales. I spend a lot of time on the road and I like it.

For the past year, I've put most of my musical efforts into The McFlies, a seven-piece acoustic eighties band that will rock your world. It's a blast to play music just because it's a blast to play music. My website, davidnewland.com is a big part of my process. Feel free.
