A few years ago, in Bastrop Texas, Cris Womack and Chris Mills began writing songs together. They wrote songs mainly from the trials of young relationships that we all experience at some point in our lives. They went on like this into college where Brandon Deem was introduced to the band as one of the loudest fans at Rocky's.
Soon after, the group got together to jam and throw around some old songs. Unfortunately Erick, Mills and Womack's good long time friend and bassist, announced that he would no longer be playing with Eleven Dollars. Doug Benscoter joined the band almost immediately to fill in for Erick. The newly mended band played around Denton for almost a year like this.
About this time, Steve Hughes was asked to join the band. He brought a new element to Eleven Dollars which all of us were more than happy to embrace. Shows around the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex have been ever increasing in venues such as: the Curtain Club/Liquid Lounge and the Bone in Deep Ellum, the Garage in Denton, the QT base ball stadium in Grand Prarie and the Aardvark and the Door in Ft. Worth.
In the midst of these shows Eleven Dollars has ironed out a professionally produced EP entitled "Missing Pieces" which has been a huge hit with fans around the metroplex. The band is making plans to finish the album in the fall.
