Doberman had its first gig in 2003 but started rehearsing at the beginning of 2002. They worked hard for a year before presenting themselves in front of an audience. Everything started when Andrés and Nacho got to know each other at a local pub. After that first meeting, Nacho called Matías and got together with long time friends Andrés and Germán. The rest, as they say, is history.
Dobermans’ music has its’ roots in classic hard rock and it’s deeply influenced by ACDC, Deep Purple, Guns n’ Roses, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, just to name a few.
In Uruguay, the band is well known for their strong live performances and the quality of their music. As a consequence they won the biggest band contest in the country in 2004, where they participated against 500 other bands. In 2006, the band was awarded with the “Best up and coming band in Uruguay” at the Graffiti Awards (Uruguayan music awards).
Doberman is actually touring Uruguay promoting their latest album “El ultimo en pie”. They have played in almost every city and rock festival in the country, including the Pilsen Rock festival, the biggest rock venue in Uruguay.
At the moment, the band is writing the songs for their third record, which will be recorded in 2009.
