He has been compared to artists such as Taj Mahal,Leo Kottke, Charley Patton,Keb Mo,Ry Cooder,Jimi Hendrix,Billy F. Gibbons and Mississippi John Hurt.His music influences cover all forms of music,Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys,U.P.Wilson,Robert Ealey,Jimi Hendrix,Johnny Winter,Captain Beyond,King's X,Nine Inch Nails,Willie Nelson,Howlin' Wolf,John Lee Hooker to name a few.He has opened up shows for Holland K. Smith,Magic Slim and the Teardrops,Amnesty International Human Rights Festival,two tours with"The Buddy Miles Express" in 1999-2000 and performed at different types of festivals,Honky Tonks and Coffee houses throughout Texas.In March 2009,Sheila Cain of Blues City Radio sponsored a tour through Mississippi to promote his music and visit Blues history in the forms of museums and juke joints.In April 3rd 2009,he played with the Deja Blues Band at the Texas State Fair in Ford Park in Beaumont Texas.His current band members are Randy Ray Pope on Harmonica and vocals(has performed with Katy Webster,Mike Stockton,Clarence"Bon Ton"Garlow,Dr.John,James Taylor) and Lil' Lucky Junior a.k.a."Cathouse" Eddie on drums(has performed with Anson Funderburg,Homer Henderson).No bass player at all but there is room for it.Danny also plays drums,piano,harmonica and bass.If you love to hear slide style Dobro Gutbucket Blues, then you'll love what Danny Hill loves to do for you.
