Hello all you crazy Gypsies!
Doch is a Brisbane based band, featuring seven passionate and exuberant urban gypsies with immortal musical abilities. They are professional, committed and unrelenting in delivering the best show at all times.
The band has already generated considerable arousal in their hometown, Brisbane, receiving coverage in The Courier Mail, The Sunday Mail, City News, Time Off and various suburban newspapers, as well as airplay on Radio National and Triple Zed. They have also appeared on ABC television's Stateline. They are receiving national and international attention as a result of acclaimed festival sets, such as those at the 2003-2005 Woodford Folk Festivals, at the World Beat Festival, Cabaret Festival, WOMAD 2006, Cygnet Festival 2006, Auckland Folk Festival 2006 and The Big Day Out!
Doch released their debut, full-length album ‘Chasing Grasshoppers’ in December 2002. It was launched with great fanfare at an event featuring a specially assembled 30-piece Gypsy Orchestra and is being distributed nationally through MGM Distribution.
They have also shot a music video clip to “Biba’s Sorrow” which featured a professional dancer in a white lycra suit!!!!!
Doch now has a live album from the 2004 Doch Gypsy Orchestra series of shows at the Brisbane Powerhouse. It is a fantastic listen and is titled "This Drink This Moon".
Doch is highly suitable for parties, festivals and celebratory occasions. They work well both indoors and outdoors – providing people have room to dance. Their music transcends age and trends – making them highly attractive for general public events. They are also perfect for events that attract the dedicated music lover, with their meticulous musicality, unique arrangements and instrumentation, and eclectic musical sources.
Here are two short videos from the Doch Gypsy Orchestra series at the Powerhouse 2007. Enjoy!

"Also hugely enjoyable, highly original AND psychically useful is the music of Australian duo The Scrapes, whose fiery epic guitar and abandoned Mithraic fiddle pieces evoke images of lost Keltic lands inundated by the oceans, lost Iberian & Armorican sea peoples and lost times from beyond the beyond." Julian Cope

Woodford was awesome guys! Thanks for putting on such a great show(s) Very addictive music indeed. I think everyone at Woodford went home with a little more love for the gypsy folk tunes. Keep up the good work. :)
Woodford was brilliant! I saw so many acts I had no idea about, and danced until I couldn't walk haha. I was a great inspiration (musically) actually. Do the artists get much time to enjoy the festival?
