I'm playing everything except drums, which I usually program. Sometimes I am lucky enough to work with actual drummers, but they usually explode or burst into flames before the show or recording session is over.

Hello! I'm Doc Holladay and I'm a guitarist/bassist from Nashville, TN. I spent several years working with the high octane bluegrass/newgrass group Crucial Smith and have later worked with it's final evolution, Plaidgrass. From 2003 - 2005 I also played with the group Naked Beggars, which is a hard-hitting blues/rock group from Nashville, produced by Eric Brittingham (of Cinderella fame). I just finished work on my first solo CD, titled "Doc Holladay, Volume 1" which is now available for purchace here on myspace! It's a roots, country-rock, thinking man's record. I'm really proud of the way it turned out, and feel like it represents several of the layers of who I am without losing the fun factor. I have been fortunate this year to have signed a "songwriter/publishing" deal and have mainly been focused on writing and recording demos of my material to pitch to artists here in Nashville. However, the process of doing that has left me with a lot of songs that are recorded that I'm too excited about to just sit on them, and so it finally made sense to put some of my favorites together on a CD. I record, produce, and engineer all my material at my studio here in Nashville (Man Cave Studios), and occasionally make time to do "demos for hire" for other songwriters and/or produce and record other people's projects as I have time. There's already material in the works for Volume 2, so stay tuned for that later in the year! I hope you find something that rocks your world, makes you think, or laugh your ass off... or maybe all those things at once.

Hey Doc! Thanks for checkin in. Haven't heard from you lately. I realize you're busy, but I enjoy hearing from you. We just had 13 of my family (parents, children and grandbabies) for 4 days and it was wonderful, but now I'm plum tuckered out and in recovery/clean-up mode. One of my new baby goats died yesterday, so I've cried like it was one of my own children, but I'm looking for a new one to give the other one some much needed companionship.
