Biography
Doc debuted on netlabel Musictrade's Sola Muusika 2005 compilation (MT001) followed by a full album release Distant Transmissions - Ambient Reflections on Bach (MT002) in co-operation with the Russian pianist Lena Selyanina. In July 2005 Doc performed in Norberg 2005 electronic music festival in a Musictrade showcase and contributed two tracks to Musictrade's Norberg 2005 Field Mixes album (MT003).
In November 2005 Doc released his second ambient co-creation with Lena Selyanina: An Island of Joy (In a Sea of Electronic Dreams) (MT004), containing ambient meditations on Claude Debussy's 'water music'. Later same month he contributed two tracks to Musictrade's New Orleans tribute album Requiems for a Submerged City (MT005). Doc finished his productive year 2005 with a lighthearted dance album Nein Absolut Nicht (MT006) built on the soundworld from a single episode of the German police series 'Der Alte'.
In March 2006 Doc and Lena Selyanina released their third neoclassical ambient album: Noble, Sentimental and Ambient Waltzes (MT008), inspired by Maurice Ravel's series of waltzes for the piano. The fourth album of Doc and Lena, Echoes from an Engulfed Cathedral (MT011), came out in January 2007. Like their earlier 'An Island of Joy' this album was also inspired by Claude Debussy's music. In December 2007 the two released their fifth album, Nangilima (MT015), an ambient work inspired by Dmitri Shostakovich's piano music and focusing on the theme of childhood's joys, fears and fantasies.

DOC! My spacebaby and me are flying with your great Dame Citrus actually. Stunning and spacey working Frequencies at his best! Thank you so much again for spreading the truth for free to everyone with a huge shining heart and a spaced out soul. True Love from your space-couple Tristan & Marlies out of Berlin, Planet Earth, Space! :***
Thank you, Katarzyna. Cosmic Lullabies has been very well received, and personal feedback like yours makes us very happy: the beauty and magic of stillness, and peace of mind, is precisely what we wanted to inspire in our listeners.
I share your thoughts. Today we still live in a very noisy and hyped up world of superficial commercial music production and money-driven promotion, so we don't even expect any larger attention for this very quiet and contemplative music we make. But thanks to Internet, those who really look for it can nevertheless find it and get it. And it will not disappear anywhere - those who embrace it, will save it and share it further.
... when the music industry is gone we will see, feel and hear who is doing this for love and evolution, not for money or fame... ... no boundaries ... just pure beauty of our own being and the power of the mental universe ... spread the frequencies ... thanks a lot doc ... tristan
Here in Finland we are living a strange, very warm February... usually this is the coldest month of the year here but now it has been above zero almost every day. Maybe we will go this time straight to the spring without any real winter at all. The days are getting more light and it is indeed not hard at all to imagine spring coming soon!
Best greetings and good vibrations to Berlin, Siberia and other places where you live on this nice blue planet.
Hi there. ;-) Thanks for accepting. That´s some really unusal sound. Different and strange and that´s the thing I like the most. Thanks for enriching my musical experiences. Hearty greetings
We're presently working on new material with Lena Selyanina, so there should be some cool new neoclassical ambient to be released in the coming months.
For those of you interested in my more experimental ambient/electronic works, I have just released a field recording based track on Pirate Bay.
From the release notes:
This experimental ambient track takes you for a 10 minute sonic journey in an underground train heading south from the centrum of Stockholm along Röda linjen ('Red route'). It is based on a binaural field recording made by Swedish Musictrade artist Frags using Soundman OKM microphones. The field recording runs in real time as a background for the song, the underground stations with their recorded announcements establishing natural breakpoints for the flow of the music. There are numerous different ethnic groups living in the southern suburbs of Stockholm, to be heard in the recording as a babelic mixture of languages.
The torrent package includes both the 24bit/88.2kHz master for audiophile use and a good quality mp3 version for normal uses.
