About Doc Neesons Angels

For over 30 years Doc fronted the Australian rock juggernaut The Angels whose Face To Face album was the longest charting Australian album ever. By 1979 they were Australia's hottest live act, commanding respect from the world's hard rock royalty including Chuck Berry, David Bowie, AC/DC, Guns 'N' Roses, Motley Crue, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith and Keith Richards.

In their stellar career Doc and The Angels produced 12 albums, all of which achieved either gold or multi-platinum record status. The single "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again" became a national rock anthem and "The Mad Irishman" became an Australian icon.

In 1999 a serious car accident forced Doc to stop performing with The Angels, after a blistering performance at his "Tour of Duty" concert in Dili, East Timor.

In 2005 Doc and Angels' bass player Jim Hilbun formed "Red Phoenix" with guitarist David Lowy and recorded in The Bahamas with Sean Connery ("007") guesting on one track.

This year DOC NEESONS ANGELS will tour Australia with Countdown Spectacular 2, gig extensively and release an Acoustic Sessions album of Angels classics.

I just got back from a weekend in Sydney. caught the Tatts gig on the fri at Revesby where Bill told me about the gig with u and angry and mark and swanee at woollongong on the sat. i couldnt believe i was so close, yet so far...with no transport it was not possible to attend the albion...but certainly wished that we could have!!! all good tho, cos we have flights and tickets booked for Doncaster and Hallam in July!!! cant wait!

.NATURE OF THE BEAST.	May 19 2008 9:14 AM Doc, I won't tell NO SECRETS coz there is no EVIDENCE. But I will say I'm HOWLING for THE ANGELS. How many more sleeps till we become FACE TO FACE? I'm stuck here in this DARKROOM with NO EXIT having WASTED SLEEPLESS NIGHTS. Went to the DOC to seek a cure for this REDBACK FEVER before I turn to SKIN & BONE. He advised I was in need of a NIGHT ATTACK but to WATCH THE RED coz I'm walking on a LIVELINE. He left me SHELVED with the fear of becoming BEYOND SALVATION so can you help me? When the TWO MINUTE WARNING sounds on THE 18TH OF JULY I'll jump in my LEFT HAND DRIVE and meet you at THE GOV. Where I'll see THE ANGELS GREATEST line up playing some of their GREATEST HITS in THEIR FINEST HOUR AND THEN SOME. Including NATURE OF THE BEAST to have the best birthday yet!! Deb x
