  • Bio

Folksinger, Songwriter, Philosopher and Consulting Mendicant. Doc Sanders was born in Denver, Colorado during the first big snow storm of 1952. He is a true native born, Son of the American West. In college Doc played for tips and free espresso at a number of local coffee houses, eventually forming the Folk/Rock/Bluegrass band High Noon. After college Doc returned to the West where he bounced around for a while living in Montana, Denver, Albuquerque and Las Vegas. He has been a featured performer at numerous acoustic venues in Las Vegas; including Garage-Ma-Hall (http://www. Garagemahall.org), The Red Room, The Art Bar, and Island Grill; ran sound for the Acoustic Routes concert series, was one of the original founders of the Acoustic 209 First Friday concert series; and toured the Dayton/Cleveland area as part of the Las Vegas Songwriter's Circle Tour 05. Doc returned to Colorado in 2007, where he continues to perform with songstress, Kit Fox. Doc & Kit have brought their show to people in assisted living homes and other similar venues, bringing the music to people who would otherwise not be able to attend the more conventional shows. Doc & Kit are now working on the “Rocky Mountain Home” CD, and anticipate a release date sometime in the Spring of ’09.

  • Sounds Like

Heavily influenced by the lyrical style of John Prine, Doc’s music can probably be best described as “Folk-Americana”. Simple ballads and lyrics that share a story with the listener have always had a special appeal, and Doc’s music is always genuine, heartfelt and moving. His lyrical storytelling and passionate, haunting delivery reveal the unvarnished, emotional side of life; reflecting images that are often eerily familiar to us on a very basic human level.
