Dr. Goodvibe is a Central Coast-(NSW, Australia) based band that plays their own brand of acoustic soul, blues, latin, jazz, funk fusion! The core of the band are: singer/songwriter Edu Valk; and harmonica player extraordinaire, Christian Marsh.
In 2005, Dr Goodvibe won awards for their compositions in the "Blues and Roots" and "Presenters Choice" categories, in the 1233 ABC Newcastle Music Awards, plus best "Instrumental" in 2006. For more information visit ABC.
Edu is a unique and diverse singer songwriter whose philosophical and often satirical commentary on life openly elucidates his heart. The eternal optimist, EDU's music is raw and honest and uplifting, with comparisons as diverse as David Grey, Jack Johnson Dave Graney, Van Morrison, Lou Reed and JJ Cale just to name a few.
Christians playing will open your mind to the versatility of the harmonica. Christians trademark is a particularly pure and sweet tone, which he weaves through even the simplest of melodies to create lively and complex musical arrangements. He has played every idiom, from country and blues to jazz and classical, playing with many of the top artists in the Australian music industry. Highlights of his career include a national tour with the hit stage musical "Big River", three national "Gold Harmonica awards, worked as Larry Adler's harmonica technician on the "Glory Of Gershwin" tour, he has recently completed a successful concert tour in Asia with "The Reason To Breathe". He has also released two of his own CD's and performed as a guest artist on thirty more. He has distilled his unique sound from this wide experience.
