There's strong, and then there's US Army Strong. Do you have what it takes?
This 2 1/2 minute video shows the new ad campaign of the United States Army.

I should warn you that the chamber we are about to pass into does not literally exist within our planet. It is a little too... large. We are about to pass through a gateway into a vast tract of hyperspace. It may disturb you. It scares the willies out of me. Hold tight!
You know the greatest danger facing us is ourselves, an irrational fear of the unknown. There is no such thing as the unknown. Only things temporarily hidden, temporarily not understood.
I suspect that as we become more sophisticated in our view of the world, we tend to become more demanding too. We want rational reassurances, when what we need is a reawakening of that childlike wonder that we all once had; that awesome ability to see miracles in every waking moment, to believe what our senses tell us to see.
Time is a word - a shadow of an idea; but always, always, out of the whirlwind of events, the multiplicity of human activities or the endless boredom of disinterest, there is the sky - the sky with all of its unchanging changeablesness showing the variations of Now and the stability of Forever. There are the stars, the square-set corners of our eternities that wheel and turn and always find their way back. There are the transient, tumbled clouds, the
windy, wispy mares' tails, the crackling mackerel skies, and the romping, delightful tumult of the thunderstorms. And the moon - the moon that dreams and sets to dreaming - that mends the world with its compassionate light and makes everything look as though newness is forever.

What is space? Is it a wilderness beyond any man's exploring, even if he had a hundred, a thousand life spans in which to prowl the lanes between solar systems and planets, to go questing, to seek ever new and newer knowledge of what may lie beyond the next sun, the next system? Yet to such seekers comes also the knowledge that there must be no boundaries to man's belief, but rather an acceptance of wonders which would leave the planet-bound, those who follow familiar trails, incredulous and refusing to accept the evidence of their own senses.
Yet all the suns that light the corridors of the universe shine dim before the blazing of a single thought - proclaiming in incandescent glory the myriad mind of Man.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of inifinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but someday the piecing together of disassociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and tranquility of a new dark age.
The universe exists as it is because we are here to observe it so.
There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another which states that this has already happened.

'THEM' whoever 'THEY' are because all too often 'THEY' are responsible for negatively complicating Life, the Universe and Everything. I'd like to give 'THEM' a piece of 'MY' mind for the sake of 'MY' peace of mind.
MODERATOR 3 OF 3 TERTIARY ADJUNCT OF UNIMATRIX STAR TREK ONE
Why are we now traveling into space? Well, why indeed, do we trouble to look beyond the next mountain? Our prime obligation to ourselves is to make the unknown known. We're on a journey to keep an appointment with whatever we are.
Intolerance in the 23rd century? Improbable! If man survives that long, he will have learned to take a delight in the essential differences between men and between cultures. He will learn that differences in ideas and attitudes are a delight, part of life's exciting variety, not something to fear. It's a manifestation of the greatness that God, or whatever it is, gave us. This infinite variation and delight, this part of the optimism, we built into Star Trek.
To be different is not necessarily to be ugly. To have a different idea is not necessarily to be wrong. The worst thing that could possibly happen is for all of us to look and think and act alike. For if we do not learn to appreciate the small variations between our own kind here on Earth, then God help us if we get out into space and meet the variations that are almost certainly out there.
The extremes of conduct in human affairs are infinite. We manage to exist collectively only because we set up and enforce certain rules of conduct. These are, of course, our laws. We promulgate these rules of laws, not because men agree on ways of conduct, but because they do not agree. Law is an artificial standard which marks the limits of activity beyond which certain society is injured. Law, standing alone, is a fiction. It achieves reality only when it is observed. Now, I believe that the character of every society lies in the method of establishing observance of these laws, and the permenance of every society lies in the success in securing observance of these laws.

Greetings and salutations,
My best friend Mark Williams (a.k.a.) Admiral Kirk needs your vote to win a Star Trek: TOS Captain's Chair in the final round of the Roddenberry. com's 2008 Member of the Year contest. Mark and I "Gary (a.k.a.) Mr. Spock" are best known for our "Kirk And Spock" shows that we put on at conventions. The 2008 STARBASE INDY convention on Thanksgiving weekend featured us as part of their main entertainment. We had performed "Spock's Brain". I hope that we can get the video of our performance on YouTube in the near future. Another great reason to vote for Mark is that I only live a few miles from his house! After all, I have been and always shall be his friend.

I was standing on a curb next to Festiva I. Festiva II was on the same level ground as me. It's also a whole lot nicer than Festiva I ever was. The A/C works and everything!
I cannot thank you enough for the unclely care package that arrived last week. Down Periscope is my favorite submarine-related movie starring Kelsey Grammar and William H. Macy of all time, and don't worry, I found the DVD's in their state of the art space age climate controlled containment unit.
