DOCTOR NERVE has been annihilating the boundaries between heavy metal, contemporary music, and improvisation since 1984. Founded by guitarist/composer Nick Didkovsky, the band plays tightly composed, complex, extremely energetic, fast-changing music, executed by a white-hot team of musicians, each of whom have carved out their own niches in New York City’s new music scene.
Doctor Nerve's music is sold through iTunes Music Store and eMusic:
Doctor NerveBeta 14 Ok. Screamingly high energy performances of superbly convoluted compositions.
Doctor NerveEvery Screaming Ear. Very hot live sets including collaborations with Isso Yukihiro Group, newEAR Ensemble, and Meridian Arts Ensemble (covering a Captain Beefheart tune).
Nick DidkovskyBinky Boy. Nick's guitar CD with Fred Frith, Rene Lussier, Mark Stewart, and Mark Howell.
Well, let..s straighten out that strange colloquialism of yours. The proper spelling is: Raka rör, ägg under hatten. The first part (strange pipes) means straight and uncomplicated with some aggressive edge and can be applied to human behaviour or music or whatever. The second part (eggs under the hat) must be part of some proverb I..ve never heard of. Now you can amaze/confuse your friends by saying in a suitable context: Now this is really straight pipes!! Hiya Nick!! Remember the days of trying to get you a gig in Stockholm (talking to confused waiters and so on). Well, that was before I read somewhere that your drummer Leo was born in ....SWEDEN!!! A chocking revelation indeed and one that makes Doctor Nerve a more or less (Considerably less but what the...) Swedish band, incredible nést pas!! Hugs from Scandinavia Fredrik
