Urban Development's Documented label is gearing up for new releases by the Queen of Afro-fusion, Wunmi, and singer-songwriter Randolph Matthews during May & June 2007.
Set up in 2005, Documented is a record label run by Urban Development dedicated to established artists who require an open-minded A&R policy for their work and the resources to record or complete an album, market the release, rehearse and tour. Documented is managed by Quinton Scott (ex-Strut Records) and is distributed by Kudos Records in the UK.
The policy of the label is to develop artists who are often overlooked by the music business - each artist agreement is for one album only and the label serves as a stepping stone for each artist to advance their career and secure further master and publishing deals. Mpho Skeef has successfully completed her debut album, which has now been licensed to PIAS / Wall Of Sound Recordings for release in late 2007. Randolph Matthews and Wunmi are releasing EP and album projects respectively during Spring / Summer 2007.
