  • Bio

Dodd Ferrelle transitions from Sonic Americana to Indie Pop to straight up country on last year's "Lonely Parades". After years on the road with the Tinfoil Stars, Dodd went solo with his 2009 offering and is currently finishing up what will be his second and third solo studio records in a span of 2 years. The pop/rock album "Hide the World" will be released early 2011 and the more acoustic album "Sucker Punch Town" will be released shortly thereafter. His band features Noel and David Blackmon, Jon Mills, David Vanwyk, Tim Adams and Brad Fowler. http://www.doddferrelle.com/ "Ferrelle captures a familiar American rock sound yet manages to convey the mood of the times. His guitar playing is admirable, his talent obvious and as distinctive as his voice." - David Harry, AMERICANA UK "Ferrelle and his band are the most promising roots-based rock act from the Athens area since the Drive By Truckers." Greg Nicoll, CREATIVE LOAFING "Weaned on the Beatles, the Replacements and the Waterboys, Athens' Dodd Ferrelle may not yet have the resume of his musical heroes, but he has the passion and talent to make even the most accomplished musician take notice." "Nebulous post-industrial soundscapes constantly tweaked and realigned to create one of the most original electronic records of the year to date. 4.5/5" - THE MILK FACTORY

"Literally one in a million; tweaking and meshing uncommon sounds to create one of the most original electronic pieces I have heard all year. Abstract art for the ears most certainly." - AW MUSIC

"A post-glitch triumph that goes by quickly but not without making one’s head spin." - CYCLIC DEFROST

"Murky Circuits sounds like a highly caffeinated robot took over a decrepit Radio Shack and had its way with anything it could grab." - CHUBBY JONES

Dodd Ferrelle transitions from Sonic Americana to Indie Pop to straight up country on last year’s “Lonely Parades”. After years on the road with the Tinfoil Stars, Dodd went solo with his 2009 offering and is currently finishing up what will be his second and third solo studio records in a span of 2 years. The pop/rock album “Hide the World” will be released early 2011 and the more acoustic album “Sucker Punch Town” will be released shortly thereafter. His band features Noel and David Blackmon, Marcus Thompson, David Vanwyk, Tim Adams and Brad Fowler.

"Ferrelle has produced a record that captures a familiar American rock sound yet manages to convey the mood of the times. His guitar playing is admirable, his talent obvious and as distinctive as his voice." - David Harry, Americana UK (Aug 16, 2009)

"Americana with attitude, vision, and plenty of gummy pop harmonies to shake a stick at. Nice formula that sounds like what would happen if Springsteen had decided to explore the indie route." - J-Sin, Smother Online (Aug 05, 2009)

"Lonely Parades is a good, solid piece of work. The songs are catchy and very well played and it’ll sound pretty good wherever you listen to it. It’ll just sound better in the back room of the Broken Spur Salloon, because that’s where it belongs." - Damian Leslie, Incendiary (Jul 15, 2009)

With the auditory atmosphere of a '90s alternative scene, but a disenchantment that’s right on time, Lonely Parades builds upon a firm foundation of alternative country to create a piece that easily contributes to Ferrelle’s already successful career."
Ashley Buzzy, FLAGPOLE MAGAZINE, April 1, 2009

"The album is a consistently fine listen, and it's littered with real gems. "I Can't Wait" is a near-perfect synthesis of everything that makes pop music great....This is an album that deserves a wide listen. Recommended."
Bill Kopp, musoscribe.com

"Athens musician and songsmith Dodd Ferrelle charges up his dark Americana with a generous influx of rock and power-pop electricity on his new platter, Lonely Parades. Out now on Atlanta label Two Sheds, the album stands as Ferrelle’s strongest batch of songs to date."
Jeff Clark, STOMP & STAMMER, April 2009

"Building on his Murder of Love CD, Dodd Ferrelle has released Lonely Parades, often sounding like early REM but with a little more twang and a lot more heart. Highlights for me are "Miss Bliss," "If You Could Live Another Life..," and "What's Another Broken Heart?"
