I'm mainly drawn to a pre-1970's lifestyle (i.e. music, cars, clothes, style, sayings, furniture, etc.). I'm especially drawn to the 1940's and 1950's. I LOVE and I mean LOVE music. I also love Pin-up, vintage Western memorabliia, telenovelas (soap operas in Spanish), documentaries, American history, Linguistics, Native American history, Found art, Mexican art and religious icons, dancing,burlesque, healthy living. I'm pretty much interested in anything that will make me a better person and help me to enjoy life!

I love Doo Wop, TexMex, Rockabilly, Hillbilly, Blues, Skiffle, Jazz, Honky Tonk, Rock en Espanol, Western Swing, Gospel, Jump Swing, R&B (1940's - 50's), Punk, Bluegrass, Folk, Conjunto,Cajun, Ranchera, Surf, 60's Garage, Hawaiian music, Classical, good ole' fashion R & R and Zydeco. Not necessarily in that order!!!

About me: I am a native Californian who fell in love with Pin Up as a young girl! I have an intense passion for Mexican art, vintage African-American and Mexican cinema, the teachings of Jesus (especially the Amplified or Message translations) and music, music MUSIC! Live music, lovin' music, drivin' music, dancin' music, and thinkin' music.
My favorite instrument is the lap steel (well..pedal too)! It reminds me of the human heart, it can make a song sound so deeply sad or so extremely joyful. I just might learn to play one sometime (Hmmm. Miss Doe's washtub bass, jug and lap steel band!)
I love doggies (especially Labs, Pitts, Retrievers, Scotties, Jack Russells, Chihuahuas) and Tea-Cup pigs, in fact I collect piggy-stuff!
I TREASURE drivin' up the coast with my Papi (my husband) while listenin' to Surf music or 40's and 50's R&B. It's the only coast I've ever seen, and I'm sure it's got to be the prettiest!
My other intense passion is for languages! Spanish is my favorite probably because my abuelita spoke it to me as a child. But I really want to learn Korean, Italian, Ethiopian, Japanese, and re-learn French--you DO lose it if you don't use it! I'm gonna start interpreting school sometime this year--wish me luck!
