We are proud to announce the full opening of 65 Main and Dog Bar at 65 Main Street in Gloucester. Hidden in the lower level of a bank of brownstones known as the West End Block, the former home of The White Rainbow has been transformed into a contemporary, casual neighborhood restaurant which prides itself on impeccable, friendly service, exciting food and a warm comfortable environment. Our menu is diverse and exciting, the wine list is among the top in Gloucester and the value is unmatched in the area.
The dining room, which opened quietly on September 14, is named after its address and is accessible from Main Street across from the Sergeant House. The separate bar, named after the breakwater and lighthouse that help create and mark the entrance of Gloucester Harbor, is accessible from Rogers Street and has been open since July 25. Dog Bar also boasts a cozy eleven table patio, the perfect place to enjoy a great meal or a glass of wine during the warmer months. The entire feel and attitude of the staunch upscale eatery has changed, as we have sought to transform the “special occasion” image into something warmer and more light hearted that better meets the needs of the community. Gloucester is a great dining destination, with Main Street and the surrounding downtown area in the center. We think 65 Main fits perfectly into that community by offering something refreshingly different for an unbeatable value.
In addition to offering great food and drink, we host some of the finest local musicians. Every Sunday in the Dog Bar, Bradley Royds from 9:30 to close. Tuesday nights features Open Mic night with Steve Caraway. Wednesdays it's Cinderblock "dont get any on ya" funk night in the dining room, featuring Sayre, Schroote, King and Mierz. Thursday Nights Features Fun Bucket, Covering your favorite songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's.
