Leland Chapman
Leland Blane Chapman (born December 14, 1976 in Groom, Texas, USA) is a Hawaii based bail bondsman, bounty hunter, and the third son of Duane "Dog" Chapman. He is a reality television personality as seen on the television show, Dog The Bounty Hunter. The television series focuses on the lives of the Chapman family who are also bounty hunters.
As a young man, Leland did not see his father until he was eight years old. As a teenager, Leland was in a Denver, Colorado gang. Dog would regularly check to make sure that Leland attended school; this negatively affected Leland's social life, as no one wanted to "hang out" with him out of fear that Dog would spy on them. After a mugging incident involving a firearm, Leland had to choose between four years in a child detention centre or stay with his father. He considers his father, his sons Cobie and Dakota, and "the spirit of Hawaii" as the three major influences that made him go straight.
He had his first son, Dakota, at age 18. When he was 21, Leland started a Da Kine Bail Bonds branch in Kona, Hawaii. Leland and his ex-wife Maui divorced in April 2005.
Leland has a second son, Cobie, and now shares a close relationship with both of his parents and step-mother, appearing often in his father's reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter. He divides his time between his bail bonds business and up to three years ago was competing in boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, and Extreme Boxing. Due to injuries, Leland Chapman now divides his time supporting the local competitions and working in the Honolulu office of Da Kine Bail Bonds.

Duane Lee Chapman is the second oldest son born to Duane “Dog” Chapman, he is a full blooded brother to Leland Chapman.
Duane Lee was only four years old when his father Dog went to prison for murder. Soon after Dog went to prison Duane Lee was told his father was dead, he would not learn the truth nutil he was eight years old. When Dog showed up at Duane Lee’s house Duane Lee did not know who he was, he was terrified. By the time Duane Lee was twelve Dog had gotten visitation rights. The first place Dog would take Duane would be to his paternal grandmothers.
Duane Lee’s high school career was loaded with sports and girls until he started to hang with the wrong crowd. This once jock was eventually thrown out of school for fighting. The fighting continued at home with his step-dad, at seventeen his mother could not handle him any longer and sent him to live with Dog. Once settled in Denver, Colorado Duane Lee would realize that the gang life was not the life for him. Seeing Dog run his bail bonds business Duane Lee quickly realized the life of crime was no life at all.
At nineteen Duane Lee would move back to Colorado Springs, Colorado and work construction with his step-dad. In December of 1999 he would take Teresa Roybal to be his wife, they would start working in the world of finance.

Tim Chapman
Born and raised in California, Tim Chapman is a man of few words. Tim was raised with an abusive father, who would later end up in prison. Starting at a young age Tim was beaten, starved, and neglected by his father. Over the years Tim would learn that he was not the only one being assaulted by this man. By the time Tim had reached his teens, he had finally had enough and ran way with his brother to his mother.
It was after being reunited with his mother that his love for bounty hunting would begin. Little did he know that one day a red light and a fugitive would start a career that would go on for decades. At 14 Tim made his first arrest under the watchful eye of his mother. Just a few years after his first capture he would find the one man that would be like a father to him, Duane “Dog” Chapman.
While working side by side with “Dog” Tim has learned many things, including that you can be clean and straight and still kick some butt. He found a father figure in “Dog” and would later return the favor to “Dog” by helping his son, Leland.
Currently married for a second time, Tim is a proud father. With his father in prison and his step-sisters on the streets, Tim is determined to make a name for himself.

Dog the bounty hunter captured a man who was charged with 89 counts of rape (and drugging his victims and torturing them as well). (Just imagine everyone that didn't come forward, or who wasn't aware they were a victim)
Andrew Luster (the heir of Max Factor) was convicted of 86 of the 89 charges and is currently serving 124 years in prison.
Dog the bounty hunter and his crew went to Mexico and captured this monster who had his next victims lined up.
Because he captured and brought Luster back to the U.S. to be charged with these horrid crimes; Dog and his crew are suppose to be extradited to Mexico for 'illegally' capturing a criminal. Bounty Hunting is illegal in Mexico.
Now, the Mexican Government wants to imprison Dog, Leland (his son) and Tim (his brother) for capturing Luster.

Duane Lee "Dog" Chapman born, February 2, 1953 is an American bounty hunter and bail bondsman who lives in Honolulu, Hawaii. He stars in Dog the Bounty Hunter, a weekly reality television program which is broadcast on the A&E Network. He has changed the lives on so many of the people he has "picked up".
Duane Lee Chapman was born to Wesley and Barbara Chapman; he grew up with three younger siblings in Denver, Colorado and was abused as a child.[citation needed] Before becoming a bounty hunter, Chapman had frequent run-ins with the law while serving as sergeant at arms for a motorcycle gang, including 18 arrests for armed robbery. In 1977, Chapman was convicted of murder and was sentenced to 5 years of hard labor. He attained parole in 1979, and maintains that he is innocent of the original charges, as it was a fellow gang member who actually committed the murder.

A&E's broadcast of the bail bondsman vocation has promoted Chapman to celebrity status. Some of his colleagues do not approve of Chapman's methods or style. Penny Harding, the executive director of the California Bail Agents Association, said "He represents all of the things that bail agents are trying to get away from - the cowboy image, the renegade, bring 'em home dead or alive."Others in the industry criticized his 2003 crossing of the Mexican border to detain fugitive Andrew Luster (see below), saying that crossing into foreign countries is not something they condone. One bail agent said that he would not hire someone like Chapman because of concerns over civil liability.

On June 18, 2003, Chapman made news with his hunt and capture of Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster, who at the time was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Luster had fled the United States in the middle of his trial for poisoning and rape, and was convicted in absentia on 86 counts including multiple rape charges connected to assaults in 1996, 1997 and 2000. Chapman was assisted by his "hunt team", consisting of Tim Chapman and son Leland.
2006 arrest and extradition proceedings
On September 14, 2006, just days prior to the statute of limitations, Chapman, along with his son Leland Chapman and associate Tim Chapman, were arrested by United States Marshals and jailed in Honolulu on behalf of the Mexican government. All three were charged with felony restraint involving the 2003 apprehension of Andrew Luster. After spending one night in the federal detention center, Chapman told reporters: "The federal marshals treated us with great respect. But let me tell you, you never want to go to a federal prison, because it's terrible"
On September 15, 2006, Chapman appeared in a packed Honolulu courtroom with his ankles shackled. Although the judge agreed that the men were not a flight risk, he ordered that they each wear an electronic monitoring device around their ankle. The three men were released on bail ($300,000 for Duane Chapman, $100,000 each for Leland Chapman and Tim Chapman). They were also ordered to wear an electronic ankle bracelet for house arrest.
Beth Chapman was detained and had a hearing after she was caught wearing an A&E body microphone when entering the courthouse for their bond hearing; electronic recording devices are prohibited by law from being carried into federal courthouses. She was released after explaining that she "didn't know they had the mic and transmitter"; the judge (after speaking to the A&E crew) was satisfied that no recording was done.
As of September 2006, Chapman was fighting extradition. His lead attorney Brook Hart reportedly planned to argue that although the charge Chapman faces is a felony in Mexico, it may be only a misdemeanor under American law.An extradition hearing was set for November 16, 2006, where both sides were to present evidence and witnesses.[7] Chapman has speculated that his arrest was due in part to a possible prisoner exchange agreement between the Mexican and American authorities. According to Chapman, the federal agents 'sold him out', by trading him in for a convicted Mexican drug lord.
Sometime in October 2006, Duane, Leland, & Tim had their ankle bracelets removed so they could work.
On October 11, 2006, news reports surfaced of an open letter dated September 26, 2006, sent on Chapman's behalf by 29 Republican Congressmen to U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The letter stated the authors' opposition to Chapman's extradition and requested that Rice deny Mexico's request for same.
On October 20, 2006, lawyers for Chapman said that the Mexican federal court had granted them an order that halted the criminal case against the bounty hunter until further evidence and witness testimony were gathered.
A court hearing was held on December 22, 2006. The original hearing was postponed because a report from a lower court was not yet received. The court heard both sides of the story, and then decided to recess and continue the hearing on January 16, 2007. The court had up to Tuesday February 6, 2007 but the deadline was extended.
On February 16, 2007, a Mexican Federal court cleared the way for Duane Chapman to be extradited, ruling there was no reason not to try him with the charge of deprivation of liberty in Mexico.
On February 23, 2007, Hawaii State Representatives Gene Ward, Karen Awana, Rida Cabanilla, Lynn Finnegan, Barbara Marumoto, Colleen Meyer, Kymberly Pine, Joe Bertram, Ken Ito, Marylin Lee, and John Mizuno introduced HCR50, "Requesting the President of Mexico and the Second District Court of Guadalajara to drop extradition charges against TV Bounty Hunter, Duane 'Dog' Chapman".

On March 7, 2007, legislators in the International Affairs Committee of the Hawaii State House passed a resolution that asks the Mexican government to drop the extradition proceedings against Duane, Leland and Tim Chapman.
Family
Chapman has been married five times, and is the biological father of fourteen children, two of whom are deceased, and one adopted child. His oldest son, Christopher Chapman, was born in 1969. Duane Chapman was not married to the mother and Christopher was put up for adoption.
Chapman married La Fonda Sue Honeycutt April 1, 1972 in Texas; they divorced in 1977 while he was in prison.
They had two children, Duane Lee Chapman and Leland Chapman. Duane Lee II was born January 21, 1973 and was a financial and retirement counselor before going back to his first job, bounty hunting. He lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, until moving to O‘ahu to work with his father and brother. His wife and four children -- Jodi, Jasmine, Jennifer and Dylan -- still live in Colorado, but will be following Duane Lee to Hawaii soon. Leland was born December 14, 1976 in Groom, Texas. He also works with his father and trains in mixed martial arts. He has two sons,Dakota, born March 24, 1995, and Cobie, born December 7, 2000. He is divorced from their mother.
Chapman married Anne M. Tegnell August 22, 1979 in Colorado. This marriage also ended in divorce. They had three children, one, Zebediah Duane Chapman, died as an infant on January 31, 1980 at home. Zebediah Duane was born prematurely on January 1, 1980 in University, Colorado. His next son, Wesley Chapman was born November 14, 1980, he has one daughter born in 2005 with his ex-wife Gwen.Their 3rd son James was born March 2, 1982. Both were raised by their maternal grandmother.
Chapman married Lyssa Rae Brittain June 22, 1982. They were divorced November 20, 1991. They had three children, one being Barbara-Katie "B.K." Chapman, born June 8, 1982 in Denver, Colorado. The day before Duane's wedding to Beth Smith, she died at age 23 in Fairbanks, Alaska on May 19, 2006, during a high speed car accident involving drugs. She had been in and out of drug rehab and reportedly used money her father gave her to buy cocaine on a regular basis.Barbara was survived by her son, Travis Drake-Lee Chapman, born 2002. Travis lives with Dog and his wife Beth. Tucker Dee Chapman, born September 8, 1984, was serving a 20-year prison term on a kidnaping charge in 2002 and was released spring 2006; he now lives in Hawaii."Baby" Lyssa Chapman, born June 10, 1987, currently works as a bounty hunter with her dad, step-mom and half-brothers. She has one daughter, Abbie Mae Chapman, born 2002.
Chapman married Tawny Marie. This marriage also ended in divorce. Chapman has three other children, James, Nicholas and Leilani.
Chapman married his fifth wife Beth Smith on May 20, 2006 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village in Hawaii. They have two children together, Bonnie Jo Chapman and Garry Chapman. At Age 17 Beth had a son Dominique, she gave him up for adoption. Dog found him and they are close. Beth was previously married to Keith A. Barmore and they had one daughter, Cecily Barmore, whom Chapman has adopted.

The producers of the movie A Date with Darkness: The Trial and Capture of Andrew Luster did a spoof of Dog and his boys catching Luster.
He was parodied on South Park in the episode "Miss Teacher Bangs a Boy" on October 18th, 2006. Coincidentally, most of the fugitives he's caught have come from Colorado (the same area where South Park is based). He was also born in Denver, where the kids of South Park usually go to for sports. He and Beth both stated in one episode (Year of the Dog) that they were honored to be parodied.
On 29 September 2006, Chapman received permission to have the electronic monitoring device removed temporarily so that he could travel to the East Coast for previously planned appearances.
Because he is a convicted felon, Duane Chapman is not legally allowed to possess a firearm in the United States. This is one of the reasons for his using bear mace; however, it is not the main reason. Everyone on the team chooses not to carry firearms for personal and religious reasons. On some occasions, they use Tippmann A-5 paintball markers as pepper guns.
According to the U.S. Public Records he has lived in Hawaii, Colorado, Texas, and San Francisco.
In the episode "Year of the Dog", he claims to be of maternal Native American ancestry.
Often refers to his Hawaiian style of taking a fugitive as "skin on skin".
In addition to the extradition situation, Chapman is having tax problems. He owes $195,893 in income taxes from 2004, according to a federal tax lien recorded Sept. 25 by the state Bureau of Conveyances.
He often smokes cigarettes and usually offers one to the fugitives he catches as they are taken to The Honolulu Police Station.
He appeared on the comedy television series My Name is Earl. After Joy fled to Mexico, Duane walked in and arrested her.
Only one fugitive has eluded Dog on television (during the "A Family Feud" episode)- a young man from Denver named Chris Nuanes. Nuanes was captured three weeks later.

Beth Chapman
Fearless and feisty, Beth attributes her tough-as-nails attitude to her mother. It's this attitude that helps her succeed in the rough-and-tumble world of bail bonds. Beth is a seasoned professional in the family business, having become a licensed bondsman at age 21. She was the youngest person licensed in Colorado at that time. Beth's main reason for working in bail bonds was none other than Dog, the best bounty hunter in Denver. She quickly moved up the corporate ladder of the bonding business, chasing Dog all the while. Justin Bihag
Justin Bihag is the nephew of Duane "Dog" Chapman, and appeared on the A&E documentary/reality program Dog The Bounty Hunter. Justin served as part of Chapman's team of Bounty hunters during the first season of the show. He was described by his co-workers as more of a clown than a bounty hunter. Amidst the chagrin of many of the other employees, Bihag was recently invited to take part in a capture (due to Da Kine being understaffed.) Bihag was invited to participate by his Aunt Beth and he faired well during the capture, and seemed to take a more serious role in the company. However his future with Da Kine Bail Bonds is currently uncertain.
On March 5th, 2007 Bihag, 24, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants, driving without a license, driving without no-fault insurance and inattention to driving, After an accident that has put him in hospital with very bad injuries.He is expected to be okay. His daughter was born just days before the accident
