Dogfessions is a "pet project" for dog lovers who have something to share, but don't exactly know who to share it with. You can say anything in a Dogfession. Your dog can even write one (you may have to help). This site is a labor of love and creativity -- please join in to show other dog enthusiasts that they're not alone in their weird, dark, funny, sad, and wonderful confessions about their dogs. This site started on a whim and has become a place where dog lovers can chime in about their best furry friends (or even that annoying barking dog next door). The next time I pick up the mail, I hope to see your Dogfession there!
Why Dogfessions?
We all have secrets about our dogs. It's a relationship like any other. We keep secrets from our dogs and we tell them our secrets -- dogs aren't going to tell anyone. We think and feel things about our dogs that we wouldn't want anyone to know, and often, that we wouldn't even want our dogs to know!
We thought it would be fun to know what some of these "dog secrets" were, so we decided to give people a forum to talk about these secret doggie confessions -- their Dogfessions. Telling a secret is about unburdening youself -- it makes you lighter and feel better, and it's fun to share your sillier secrets too. We figured that Dogfessions would also be a great place for the dogs themselves to share their secrets too (through their owners, of course).
Dogfession Directions:
We'd love to take Dogfessions via email, but that's not as fun as getting something in the mailbox. Besides, mailing a postcard is a lost art.
We'd like to bring that back. It's very retro. How quaint you'll feel going to the mailbox! Yes, they still exist.
Here are our Dogfession directions -- we're not big on rules so there are just a few:
1. Your Dogfession must relate in some way to dogs. A dog you currently have, once had, want to have, saw on TV, etc.
2. Your Dogfession must be true.
3. Your Dogfession should be short and succinct. Try to say it in under three sentences.
4. You can say ANYTHING you want in your Dogfession. Nobody is going to judge you.
5. Your dogfession should arrive on a 4x6 postcard or postcard-sized piece of paper. You don't need one of our postcards to participate. In fact, it's better if you make your own.
6. Please decorate your card, front or back (front is best). Not artistic? Doesn't matter. There's no right or wrong way to do it.
Please send your Dogfession card (you can use ANY postcard or postcard-sized 4x6 piece of paper) and send it to:
Dogfessions
676A Ninth Ave.
#321
New York, NY 10036
All Dogfessions are anonymous. Say whatever you feel. You dog will never know (unless you tell her!).
DON'T FORGET TO STAMP IT!
You can put the stamp anywhere on the card as long as the post office can find it.
