Sounds Like
Emotional folk/indie/ambient music with a strong element of string arrangements.
Make a triangle with Will Oldham at the apex corner and Velvet Underground and Beirut on the base and somewhere in the middle sits Dog of Hearts.
Lots of the songs are a kind of sparse, minimal Folk, but new songs in development are sounding faster and fuller.
Lots more downloads/streamed stuff at www.doghead.me.uk
After several years of working on recorded stuff on his own, the artist formerly known as Doghead has finally launched himself into group music making and we are now a new band called Dog of Hearts. Lots of new songs to check out on the player with more on the way ... and we're having such a great time getting a live set together. The songs are changing a bit ... maybe in some ways more traditional as we focus less on electronics and more on playing instruments and singing together. There are still tracks with the slowness and spaciousness of the earlier stuff, but there are a few faster songs now as well. Really looking forward to doing some gigs soon ... We're rehearsing some ecstatic born-again animal singing on the track Bounce ... think maybe it's frightening the neighbours a bit, so the sooner we get out performing the better.
Thanks for the wonderful wedding music, Jimbob. Still getting loads of comments from the guests, plus requests for you to play in bands or in the recording studio. Bet no-one else has had a Dog of Hearts star perform at their wedding. Love you x
Something strangely moving and haunting about For my Father (Our Father which art in heaven, the one that gave us our crisps, as we forgive them that trespass against us). Thank you, dogbrother. M xxx
Hi, thanx a lot for your genlty words. Your stuffs is very aethereal and rarefied too. Maybe in the near future we could record a split. What do you think? All the best.
Hi Jimbob, thaks for being our new friend. (although if we're honest you were our friend already). Sorry if you've been trying to hear our music, it seems to be broken...even our resident technohead can't get it going. Soon, maybe.
